hello all,
I HATE the qi charger ford put in the console tray. It's a pain in the ass to place my phone exactly right to get it to actually charge, and when I finally manage it, it heats my phone up a million degrees. yes I have heard ford has some kind of software fix for this but honestly I just don't care enough to bother, plus I want the Magnetic feature as well.
Anyway, onto my idea. I really just want to install a normal apple MagSafe charger, but I want it actually fixed to the car, and hopefully have its slack cable managed neatly in some way. Then I realized the console tray replacements some of the accessory manufacturers here make would be a perfect vehicle to do this. They could take one of their already existing console liners and cut out a circle which would hold the MagSafe charger fixed to the console. Then it would be almost like a built in MagSafe charger.
I wish I was good with graphics, CAD, or drawing in ANY way to illustrate what I mean, but I am not. Basically imagine something like this except horizontal and built into one of these. would even be possible with a 3D printer?
Thank you to everyone who has read this and to anyone who may be able to help make this come alive. It would make my mach e so much more tolerable to have a usable MagSafe charger.
