Been trying out the APA in a variety of perpendicular parking spaces, and I've only been able to get it to work a single time.

The majority of the time, it will not detect an available space, even if there's more than one space available together, or multiple open spaces.

Two times it did next to a curb, and it rode up onto the curb while trying to park.

One time it did it smooth as butter.

Anyone else been experiencing this? I've made sure the sensors are clean, the turn signal is on, and perpendicular detection is on. Car distance and parking spot width should not be an issue. No system or sensor errors.

It ignores empty spaces not next to a vehicle.

On both sides of the space, or if there's an empty one on either side?

Regardless, it's not a big fan of detecting spaces with both sides occupied either.

It parks next to a car, always, in my experience.

6 empty spaces, then a car. I want to park at the beginning of the empty spaces, near nothing. It will park next to the car. It has to SEE the car, and then say "oh yeah, that space was empty before it".

I found this both with parallel as well as perpendicular parking.

I believe Ford has even said that it doesn't look for the lines, it only looks for a car and will attempt to park next to a car. Pretty dumb it still operates this way since it obviously can detect lines better than previous Fords with BlueCruise, etc.

Apparently it doesn't look for curbs either. That's a problem.

Logically, I would think it would look for both lines and vehicles.
