The SOBDMC was at the version listed in the recall notice (LJ98-14G069-BDG) and was upgraded one version beyond likely due to other changes.

I am noticing one of the letters in the two letter suffix and two letters in a three letter suffix in the part number seems to indicate a market or subgroup.

NJ98-14C197-AE Standard Range Battery
NJ98-14C197-BD Extended Range Battery

LJ98-14G069-AXG
LJ98-14G069-AZG
LJ98-14G069-BBG
LJ98-14G069-BDG 2021 US Market ER RWD Non-GT

Since there are other changes, updates not in the series listed in the recall may or may not contain the recall updates. My car already had LJ98-14G069-BDG from a FDRS update in March.
Interesting decoder ring for the versioning schema they might be using. Still doesn't explain why the GT/GTPE software wasn't mentioned in the recall communication to NHTSA.

My Job 1 AWD ER has the BBG version and I’ve only ever got OTA updates

Of course these didn't show up when I spent all day running updates a few weeks ago. This recall is making me nervous about the 1k mile trip I have coming up from Denver to Chicago this week. Especially with temps being so high.

If you were me in this situation, would you spend the time checking and running these updates for hopes of extra security? I've had my GT since September (built date in August) and have never run into issues befo (knock on wood)

This is just me, so take it with a grain of salt, but you will not know if you have the fix until we see the communication from Ford to its dealers with instructions on what to do to fix particular trim levels.

I think you aren't doing any harm by updating your car, but I don't think you'll know if you have any protection. Whether you're cool with this depends upon your own personal risk tolerance.

If it was me…..I’d be smashing them on.

(I already have)

I have been driving my car everywhere I need to go and will continue doing so, before and after any FDRS update. I have not been doing any updates myself, and I feel the risk is very low. Just as low as getting in a car accident, and I am still driving even though I could be in a car accident.

So my answer to your question is don't worry about it. Drive your car when and where you want to. Most cars will not fail, and you should enjoy your car.

I've had my GTPE since October and I have 20k on it. I drive over 2k a month, 95% highway driving. I'm not the least bit worried that I'll have a 0.5% chance of failure. Additionally, every week I DCFC no less than twice.

Statistics show that you have a 50% chance of being in a car accident in your life and a 1% chance of dying from one. I'm doubtful you want to walk to Chicago...

Life is about risks and adventures. Pick your battles. If my car breaks down while I'm away from home, oh well. I'll get a rental and continue on my merry way.

Your dealer wouldn’t do these updates anyways. There has been nothing released telling dealers this is the recall fix or that they are related to a TSB to warrant them applying them.

How can LJ98-14G069-BDG be listed both as software to be recalled and as the updated software.

I suspect (with no evidence) that the SOBDMC listed in the Remedy Component list is a typo and that this new version is actually the correct Remedy Component number.

BECM
The version being installed is the version listed in the Remedy Component section:

SR: NJ98-14C197-AE
ER: NJ98-14C197-BD
GT/GTPE: LK98-14C197-CG (No GT/GTPE versions are listed in the recall and remedy lists)

SOBDMC
This module has a lot more versions so I was only able to use feedback from this thread and the VIN's which I happened to have available. EU versions are different and are obviously not referenced in the US recall notice (I could not find a EU recall notice).

2021
SR/ER AWD/RWD - New version is one version higher than **G version in remedy list. As with BECM, GT/GTPE versions are not listed in the recall and remedy lists.

SR AWD (EU): LJ98-14G069-AVH
SR AWD: LJ98-14G069-AX(H?)
SR RWD: LJ98-14G069-AZ(H?)
ER AWD (EU): LJ98-14G069-BAH
ER AWD: LJ98-14G069-BBH
ER RWD: LJ98-14G069-BDH
GT: LK98-14G069-B(M?)
GTPE: LK98-14G069-C(M?)

2022
No versions match recall notice

SR AWD (EU): NJ98-14G069-A*
SR AWD:
SR RWD:
ER AWD (EU):
ER AWD: NJ98-14G069-F*
ER RWD (EU): NJ98-14G069-RB
GT: NK98-14G069-UC
GTPE: NK98-14G069-C*

Just noticed this morning that these updates wiped out my saved locations for charge settings. You may need to set those up again.
