Yep just cancelled my premium with the dealer. He assures me my machdrop FE is in the order bank. Victory goes to the bold. They must cancel one or contract you to buy both.

Maybe I’m wrong but I think we’re all a little too involved sometimes (me too). Dealers have always confirmed orders are placed before the Mach e for decades (without a VIN or build date right away) and I’ve never heard of a problem. (I’m sure there have been issues.) If they say the order is placed and that they clearly see both orders in the system, why would that create suspicion? To me it creates confirmation instead. They’re in business to sell. They want to succeed. I like my dealer. (They provide a level of review and service and checks and balances that honestly Tesla doesn’t. They won’t sell me a car with issues that wouldn’t pass a walk around inspection.) Find a dealer you like or that has strong and long community ties. They employ hundreds and help the economy. They have a vested interest in selling you this car.

The GM at my dealer now wants to cancel my Premium, he just sent an email asking about that. I'm reluctant to do that before even getting the FE scheduled and a VIN. The upside is that he says cancelling the Premium should get my deposit on it refunded.
Does canceling free up that slot for another customer converted order, give the car to the dealer, or just make it go away?

I'm assuming its a reservation and not an accepted order so it may not matter.

Feels wrong/unethical (I'm not saying your doing this I'm just thinking out loud with a hypothetical) but someone could do two orders, go to the dealership look at both and pick their favorite. Thereby taking the manufacturing slot of another customer.

Agreed. Once my dealer was able to show me my Machdrop FE was an actual order in WBDO, I agreed to cancel the original order. That put it in the exact same status as my original order. If I was good enough with that order, I'm good enough with the new order.

Will it be Friday before we hear any more news?
My dealer told me the newly scheduled vehicles go into the system on Thursdays so he is checking every Thursday for me. I suspect we will hear more scheduled cars tomorrow or Friday.

Here is what the zone manager tells my dealer:
She did say that they are scheduling for week 50 (build week 11/30, 12/7, 12/14, & 12/17) over the next two weeks so there is still a chance it will get scheduled to build prior to year-end.

Everything is getting put in the water flow for builds. Ford has to tell the dealership, hey make sure you don't have any extra orders your not suppose to have. That way they can get everyone in the system and no holes later on. Dealers thought they were going to get to keep the extra and resell. The only way that will happen is if it's on the lot you go to see it and don't like it.

You have some dealers with three orders from the same person 3 different models. At one point you have to decide lol.

Well, my dealer has been on “vacation” for a couple of weeks it seems. I’ve been trying to get ahold of him to verify my Mach drop order is in the order bank. Ford has probably sent him emails asking about my existing Premium reservation, but he’s not here to check it. I don’t even get his voicemail when I call. When I talked to the general manager, the guy blew me off. I’m absolutely sick of this dealership. When this is over, I’m going to write a very long email/letter to Detroit. Worst communication EVER! I’m literally throwing $60K at them, and they act like I’m inconveniencing THEM.

Well, my original order is #3 on that spreadsheet. I swear I messaged the admin when it changed back on 8/13. How do I change what is already in there?
Reply to the thread and hopefully the admin will add it soon.

Hopefully we'll get lots of new intel this week as the water flow becomes visible.

There is more than one person on the forums with the same experiences. It's not an acceptable way of doing business imo. It reflects very poorly on the dealer and on Ford. I hope things improve for you.

I spoked to the product specialist at the dealer today during the Mach-E tour and he said the same thing - that scheduled cars would show up Thursday or Friday. He did say that there was some odd things going on in that some cars were showing up as previewed/scheduled but then disappeared from the list. So hopefully the end of week should provide more definitive info...

Agree completely.
Real change can only happen if the law makers revisit policy regarding manufacturers and dealerships. Ford's hands are tied at the moment. They are in discussion but the voting public will need to make their voice heard if anything is going to happen there.
Actually they just need lobbyists, the general public doesn't know enough to care.
