So I got the email about the Premium I ordered and it has a build date of 12/21. I want to cancel that because I got a First Edition via the Mach Drop. But, I have only received vague answers from the dealer about the First Edition order.

So today, I pressed a bit more with my dealer and he actually sent me a copy of the WBDO order for the First Edition. The order looks good... but he says it has not been scheduled yet. :-(

Haha just got the same thing, and Dec 21st, for my Premium. I can stop debating IB vs Rapid Red now I guess.
If you really want to debate, I think I seen somewhere that the dealers can make a limited number of changes after scheduling and before build date.

I don't know why I should be surprised by any of this. I've been down this road before with Ford (and others to be fair) and this is business as usual.

By the way Mach GT preorder now says:
Orders begin Spring 2021
used to say Dec. 2020
That's disappointing, but I wasn't getting the GT anyways. They are probably getting more non GT orders in (or maybe still making improvements for GT). With that timing for orders, Does that that mean the GT will first come out as a 2022 model year?

Funny. I‘ve got a GB Mach Drop on order also and my dealer claims they can’t look the order up online but they gave me an order number which seems to match up with what would be in WBDO. I really don’t understand how the Drops are being handled and I guess the dealers don’t either. My wallet is $500 lighter so I‘m expecting a car at the end of Dec or January. Dec would be nicer from a tax perspective.

anyone get a build on the east coast yet?
Yeah... I'm in Mass and my FE, res #4155, is scheduled the week of Dec 14th. I'm not as excited about going to the road show tomorrow. I wanted that tax credit this year.

When I search by VIN it pulls a 2021 Ford Edge (I think the VIN decoder is not setup for Mach-E yet).

No owners manual is available when searching by model either.

Glad to let you and others beta test Ford's website. I'll consider it one of the few advantages of getting mine a little later.

If you finish the paperwork before year end and have the VIN, you might consider taking the tax credit in 2020. You will have "bought and taken possession" by year end....

I'm going check on that tomorrow when I'm at the road show. At least it's at my dealership's main store in RI. Their Mass store is much smaller, but much more friendly. It's actually less than a 1/4 mile from border.
I wonder if I have to give them my trade-in when i finish the paperwork?

Reposting here in this thread too:

Build week will be the week of 12/7/2020.
VIN: 3FMTK3SU7MMA0584X
Premium AWD Extended Range - Rapid Red/Light Space Grey
Order date 6/27/2020
Reservation date: 11/17/2019 30 minutes after reveal.
Reservation/Order Number: 10004393
Email finally arrived, confirmed that my dealers information was accurate.

I’m thinking that there are some market and dealer influences as to when vehicles get scheduled for production. Big market and high volume dealers may be getting priority. Mine is a big metro Detroit dealer.

How did you get this build date? Did you call the dealer, or did they proactively call you?
I asked them for the build date, and also got today the official email. I think California is probably slated to earlier build dates because of the sheer mass of cars they are going to sell here.

Congratulations to all of you that will likely receive their car before year end. Although I would like to be in your shoes at this moment the fact that I don't expect mine before march-april makes me hope that there will be less of a confusion then. People getting build dates earlier than people with smaller reservation number, or even having ordered the car just recently shows how Ford is really experiencing this internet/dealer types of reservation/order method needs to be improved a bit has it seems to leave early adopters/reservations/orders with a sentiment of being let down. They'll probably will do that has time pass hopefully and shourly with the Bronco.

So far we are talking mostly under a month, definitely under two months difference between build date and reservation date ordering. (Not counting Mach drop, and only considering USA for this statement). That is far far less out of ordering than Tesla did with the Model S and 3 shipments. Some of that with the GT, but Ford did say that one would be later, and Tesla did not state that smaller batteries would ship later, etc....

I’m in the same boat as you. I haven’t heard anything about my Mach drop FE order, but got the Premium email confirmation (14 Dec). I refuse to cancel my premium until I have a VIN for the FE.

I agree with you 100%. I'm doing the same thing. There's a part of me that's seriously considering just going through with the Premium order that has a 12/21 build week. I'm not feeling great about paying $3600 more for the FE and possibly seeing it two months later than the Premium. I really thought when the Mach Drop people asked for my reservation number that the FE would replace my order, not push it back even further.
