I bought a new 2024 Mustang Mach E on October 5, 2024. I want the Tesla adapter. Ford says it will take months before I can get one from Ford.

What alternate adapters are Mach E owners using? Electron? A2 Z Typhoon Pro?? Any recommendations appreciated

You've pretty much named the two biggest options. I'd avoid any random noname brands on Amazon, personally. But the other two should be just fine. I think MOST people here probably have an A2Z if they have something 3rd party (myself included).

Whichever one you get, just make sure to look for discounts. Last I knew, A2Z had been running a bunch of discount codes for their adapters (like "ford" or something, I'm sure someone will chime in with what they know still works).

I actually got the combo kit from A2Z with the L3 adapter and the L2 adapter for a good price.

Great point especially if you have plans to travel during Thanksgiving week.

If you order the A2Z Typhoon Pro today the estimated delivery date is October 21 - 28.

A2Z Typhoon Pro Adapter is available To Order for $171 shipped after using forum discount code “FORD” to save 10% and get free shipping.

Discount promo code “FORD” is still working and free shipping is also available.

You can bundle the A2Z Stellar AC Tesla to J-1772 for $75 additional after discount by using the drop down on the Typhoon Pro page to get both adapters.

A2Z EV Tesla Supercharger Adapter for Ford - Save 10% / Free Shipping + bundle the A2Z Stellar AC Tesla to J-1772 adapter for $75 additional after discount code "FORD".

I own all three adapters. I have the new A2Z Typhoon version and it works. (The older version had an issue which A2Z took care of quickly!) I use the official Ford version regularly. I also own the Lectron which I have not yet used. Both A2Z and Lectron have been excellent on resolving issues. I had a lost shipping issue with the Lectron and a replacement was shipped the next day. Do I need 3 adapters? No, but I needed one quickly so I had all three on order. my official adapter arrived first, to my surprise. I did take advantage of the available discount codes for the other adapters. I think GM is using Lectron to supplement the short supply of official Tesla adapters

I have the Lectron adapter and it has worked fine. Only issue is/was removing the Tesla cable from the adapter when done. The trick seems to be pressing the cord release button and waiting 5-10 seconds and then separting the cord from the adapter.

We have the "big 3"...official Ford, A2Z pro, and Lectron. The bottom line is you really can't go wrong with either. That said, we actually prefer the Lectron, with the A2Z close behind, and the official Ford in third place. Like others have said, look for discount codes to help with pricing. Also don't buy any of them from Amazon, whichever you choose go directly to their website instead.

A2Z has done extensive testing and puts that info on their website. I've had numerous conversations with their CEO about how they designed the Typhoon adapter and the testing they've gone through.

I'm also a Mach-E and Lightning owner that has used both adapters with both vehicles myself.

A2ZEV makes the Typhoon Pro adapter for Tesla SuperChargers. It sells for $177.30 (after using code FORDFORUM). They also sell the Stellar adapter, which is for Tesla Destination chargers. It sells for $113. If you pick use the dropdown menu on the Typhoon Pro page to pick the Stellar adapter also, the combined price is $252. In other words, it’s only $74.70 more for the destination charging adapter. They are currently shipping quickly. I have both adapters and have used both many times. They work great. https://a2zevshop.com/products/nacs-ccs1?ref=Typhoon&variant=43186507579592

I have the Lectron, as well as their AC adapter for destination chargers and their CCS to NACS adapter. I believe their SC adapter is the best designed one, but they all work. Apparently A2Z has replaced the slide lock with a trigger, but I haven’t seen the new one in person.

It was pretty easy to find a 15% off coupon code. I used Tom’s code, which I believe was StateOfCharge.

A2Z OG and A2Z Pro - both work really well.

I prefer the A2Z Pro - better latch ergonomics and built solid.

I only have the Tesla-made Ford adapter, but the other two both work fine from the reports I am seeing. Mine has never been fired in anger, just been driven around to a few SC locations and even proof-fired once for two minutes. 😁🐩
