If you're having issues using Android Auto, and are on Android 11, the fix should be available in a couple of weeks.
Finally, at least one good thing about my Samsung S9+ not being upgradeable to Android 11. 🤪

Hello. I just got a 21 F150 yesterday. My pixel3 Android 11 is rebooting when I connect my cable. Uninstalling Chrome update will get AA working with the cable but not wirelessly! Early adopting new electronics is a PITA. Thanks for the updates. Looking forward to the fix.

Good thing to know it's not just me! I just picked up my car this afternoon and my phone won't connect to Android Auto at all! I went back into the dealership to ask about it and they couldn't tell me why, either.

So the temp workaround is to disable Google Chrome on your phone and then Android Auto will work. Google should have an updated Android Auto by the end of the month to resolve this, but until then, you can disable Chrome on your phone.

I tested this tonight and it worked. To disable Chrome, press and hold the Chrome icon. When the popup appears, tap the i in a circle icon. Then click disable. Now Android Auto will work.

It is easy to re-enable Chrome when you are not using Android Auto. Not a great long term solution, but it is OK in the short term.

Had an online chat with Ford support today and agent confirmed the following:

"Currently this is a known issue that Ford and Google are aware of and working to correct in an upcoming software update."

"Google is releasing an updated Android Auto app version 6.1 that reverts the latest change they made that broke the wireless connection to Sync.
Planned update is expected by
Feb 22."

Ok just put AA 6.1 on my unicorn phone (Microsoft Duo) via APKMirror and:
  • Still reboots when I plug it in (at least it only reboots once now instead of continuously) and
  • Still no AA (either plugged in or wireless)

To be fair I think its my phone LOL and not the car.
