Wow, that was not my experience with Koons. Maybe that was the case when you ordered/bought your MME. That was the first place we went to three weeks ago for our test drive and discussion of purchasing. The test drive with the product specialist went well, but when the sales manager sat down with us he told us point-blank that there was a $15k markup on all MME orders. I politely told him to pound sand.

Other dealers in the area have been better, but I have seen markups from $5k to $15k.

Our car was totaled a month ago by a distracted driver and we really didn't want to be in this situation in this market right now. Unfortunately, we need a second vehicle sooner rather than later and can't wait the 24+ weeks for a custom order.

If you want to drive to Richmond, VA . Sheehy Ford was great. Ordered mine from them and X-plan pricing was honored. No shady BS whatsoever.

Frederick Motor Company was super-easy to deal with but I think they only have 1 red Select AWD in stock.

Thanks, we are set on AWD, Premium, Extended range as our unicorn. Color is the only option that we really are flexible on given the lack of inventory. I have a line on a few right now, just working the numbers to see if the respective dealers will negotiate off their markups.

All I can say is use the vehicle locator, then contact the stealers that have what you are looking for, eliminate all the ones who won't send you a written price.

It almost seems like the dealers are buying up all the builds and are making the demand artificially high. (Higher than it otherwise would be.)

That's exactly what I've been doing. I check Ford.com's inventory every morning and make my rounds of calls to weed out the customer orders from the available inventory. I ask for an OTD quote to be sent by email before I will even consider stepping foot on the dealer's lot. I am one of those sick individuals who enjoys the negotiating process. I have ended up with some great deals over the years, but this market is extremely skewed in the dealers' favor. I've had to adjust my criteria for what I can consider a "win" in negotiations.

Yes, your negotiation potential is limited as you want a desirable config. Just curious, why do you want AWD? My last car (MKX) was AWD and it only came in handy so I could go hooning on snow days. Not like many employers in the DMV expect anyone to show up for work on snow days.

We want to use the MME for road trips up to the Northeast for family visits. AWD gives us the flexibility to take it up during the winter months.

Also, the AWD has higher torque. It really moves.

Higher torque, significantly better traction on slippery surfaces, even on a regular wet road. I remember trying a hot rod a few years ago on a wet pavement, it started wiggling like crazy the moment I pushed gas pedal.

Some people like the wiggling ass end, it allegedly is a Mustang after all. Not gonna take out any crowds at cars/coffee with an AWD car.

seem slike they want to pocket the rebate. You agreed on 50k, but with the rebate it makes it 48k. So they decided to bump it to 52k and keep rebate to themselves

Saddens me a lot to see how much of a hassle dealerships are making this all to make a profit. The MME is supposed to be the first non compliance EV produced by a well known brand, and it's being ruined by the dealership's greed.

I personally tried to reach out to Mark Levine and he never replied. People keep saying reach out to him, he doesn't care. He's getting paid one way or another.

Agreed. There is a fine line between profit and profiteering and dealerships around me are opting for the latter. It's discouraging and pushing me to consider just getting a Tesla since they are available on a daily basis as demo vehicles are released in my region. Some have less than 50 miles on the odometer.
