I've taken my car to the dealer 3 times to have them install the Blue Cruise update, the latest one being last week. All 3 times they took three days and failed. As a result I'm the "guinea pig" and they won't take in anyone else's car for BC update until they can figure out mine.

Last Friday, when I went to pick up the car, my service agent said that Ford will be sending a specialist to work on my car and that on Mondya he'd find out when my car would be on the specialist's calendar. I guess the specialist is very busy in our area (SoCal). I took the car home and will play the waiting game.

So, yesterday being Monday, I texted my agent to see what the schedule looked like and here was his response: "Update, okay so now they are saying to wait for a week or two due to they are coming out with another update to try and fix these issues. So hang tight yet again my friend ! "

It looks like I'm in for more of the wait.

Sorry to hear that you have been having these issues, I hope they are able to resolve them soon. This is why I will try my best to only wait for the OTAs and not send the vehicle to the dealership for updates if I have the choice.

Maybe it's just bias from my own past issues with dealer updates, but I worry that having the dealer install module updates manually could cause problems with OTAs down the road.

Even though it took over a month I am glad I waited for BC to come via OTA’s!
I was originally scheduled at the dealer but the Ford Servers were down that day. Decided to wait and the OTA's loaded without issue and now I have BC

Someone on here can run your VIN through FDRS and see the history of which modules have been updated successfully or not.

Seems odd the dealership can not get it going for you after three attempts. Maybe they should follow the DIY FDRS thread on this forum -- I believe the success rate in getting BlueCuise using those steps is pretty high.

Ford sent a field engineer to my dealership to help them fix it after the install failed. It took them 3 hours, but got it working. The original 21G01 update took 3 days and BC was not working.

FYI, I got two OTAs after the update at the dealership, and it remained broken after that, even though I had 2.8.3 and updated maps, as well as showing activated in connected services.

OTA is the way to go if you’re ok waiting a little bit longer.

OTA has been quiet for months. And, I'm an EA.
That sucks, I’m not EA and just got all of them OTA over course of a month. Clearly some things that need worked on

Yeah, I think that once the dealer starts doing stuff that things get out of sync and OTAs stop coming..

Ford has got to learn that they are now in the software business and need to stop having these types of problems. I know that there is a labor shortage. I know that this is a new model doing new things. I know that this is hard. I also know that this is live or die for Ford in the BEV business and don't feel that we are seeing progress, improvement and a sense of urgency on their part.

Thanks for posting your experience. It was a difficult decision for many of us....bring the car into the deal for the BC update OR wait fo the OTA for BC. I opted to wait based on watching the experience of some folks on this site (they were guinea pigs at their dealers also) and just got BC this past weekend via OTA and it's great. Valuable lessons....I think the OTA process is just smoother (if you can wait) and only bring to the dealer for software updates when required (There was one big one that I think we all had to bring into the dealer for....door locks, charging curve, etc...21P22).

Hang in there....they will figure it out with help from corporate.

If it makes any of you feel better I started the route of doing it myself, but my car transitioned just fine to accepting OTA's. It's just on Ford's schedule, not ours. Which their schedule is dictated my a Magic 8-Ball their Borg Collective assimilated. "Outlook looks grim" comes up often!

I had a similar experience; was 0-2 with my dealer. Then the Blue Oval got involved directly with the dealer and "whalaa"; I have Blue Cruise. Don't give up, especially if Ford Corp. gets involved. They were able to work with my dealer and get BC downloaded correctly. And oh by the way it's worth the wait.

Were you in "stuck pre-1.7.1" state? Eg, your version in sync shows as "--" but you don't have notes or paint or any of the "new" (last summer) apps?

That's my state and I'm in for another update attempt at the dealer. It'd be fantastic (</sarcasm>) if they try for a few days and conclude we're just wedged up and waiting on yet more new software fix attempts.
