Looking forward to seeing and test driving an R2 someday. The R3X as well!

Even though it's boxier, I was surprised to learn that the R2 is very close dimensionally to the Mach-E. Same exact length and only a little taller / wider. Of course, it has way more ground clearance.

I'm wondering if they'll be a lot of cross shopping between the two.

I really like the Mach-E, but I also would love a BEV with a bit more off-road chops. If the R1T weren't out of my budget, I'd likely have one parked in my driveway right now.

I'm really rooting for Rivian. I like their vibe and would think it'd be cool to own one in the future.

What do y'all think about Rivian and their offerings?

Well, I have 2. Gen 1 have been great vehicles. A little concerned about all the quality issues discussed currently for Gen 2.

They are very adaptable for whatever your needs are. If they make it will have an R3X someday.

With that said, love my Lemon Mach e as well.

I was very close to buying an R1T but I found a Lightning for $30k less than the R1T and couldn't justify the cost for slightly better range and significantly less truck. If I had a bigger bank account, it might have played out differently. Looking forward to the R2 and R3. Cannot imagine trading the Mustang for either, though.

I was under impression that R2 and R3 won't be produced until 2026 at the earliest.

Rivian's website lists the R2 as coming out in 2026. I've heard rumors that the R3X won't see the light of day until 2028.

Depending on how things go with Rivian in the new few years, I can definitely see myself trading my Mach-E in for an R2 or R3X.

Not that I don't thoroughly enjoy my Mach-E, I just find that Rivian and their vibe speaks more to my personality.

If the R2 were available at the time I got the Mach-E, it would have been a tough choice. But I'm also concerned with Rivian quality issues and their future survivability. Ford will always be around, but Rivian is losing more than $30k per vehicle sold. I hope they can turn it around. I suppose the success of R2 and R3 will make or break them.

Really want to check out the R3 when it comes out. The T and S are nice enough for what they are but just not something I'm interested in. Assuming nothing grabs my interest before then, it'll likely be good timing to potentially swap the Mach-E.

They have a frunk, but don’t support Apple CarPlay. Without Apple support, they don’t exist to me.

I really like Rivian's and actually have a deposit down on an R2. Mainly considering it as a vehicle for my kids who will be of driving age in a few years. I do like the R1S but a bit too expensive for my taste. They really have to get the R2 right as it could make or break Rivian. RJ seems like a good dude and I like to root for the underdog.

Wish we were getting the electric Explorer like they're getting overseas but alas we are not.

Used to live 15 miles from the assembly plant. Rivian expanded substantially the old Chrysler/Mitsubishi plant. In addition to losing money on each vehicle, Rivian has borrowed a huge amount to pay for the expansion. Positively, instead of just a few vans their holding yard now has hundreds of electric delivery vans for Amazon, some with Ram trim; these are providing revenue but, I think not enough. I would not invest in Rivian stock and due to the lower Lightning price I'm not inclined to buy the R1-T, although everyone I know who has one really likes them. Corporate has large challenges.

We own both. 22 Gen 1 R1T LE, AND 23 Mach E GTPE. Love both of them. Rivian is a beast, 835hp, off road, hauls 11k lb, smooth riding, comfortable. good on trips. Also extracts sad face looks as I pull away from the Hemi's that think they are fast.. Mach E is also great. Totally different ride, quick sport feel, also fast, just .5 sec slower. fun to drive good on trips. It's our "2nd" car. Had an R1S ordered and ready to deliver but we felt it to big/much for the 2nd car and didn't need that level. Looked at other EVs. Liked the Mach E best. We do have an R2 reserved. Will decide when ready if we keep it, and trade the Mach E or R1T, or just stay with what we have.

I would love to see a R2T or a R3T or better yet a Maverick Full EV. F-150 EV it too much truck for what I need it for.
I had the first year Maverick hybrid and it was a great vehicle. I was hoping Ford would come out with plug in hybrid or full electric. I had to go with Mach E for electric vehicle.
