No EV hate, just some post-drag racing angst…Was at a stop light 0620 on a Thursday morning. This tricked out pickup truck idles up on my left side and starts revving his engine. Mammalian brain says “Leave it alone,” Reptilian brain says “OWN HIM!” Light turns green, pickup is looking at my taillights in the distance. SFSG…

Next, both of us are looking at the red and white lights from the NYSP car. We both pull over. Trooper comes up to me and says “license and registration.” I am a physician and I work with the NYSP and carry a shield and ID in my wallet. I do NOT ”badge” police to get out of tickets. He sees my shield when I open my wallet and he says “you are good.” I then get the “nice car, no more fun mini talk” and “have a nice day.” PicKup drive gets a citation.

I’ve received all positive comments on the car and people asking what it is. I also haven’t noticed any negative behavior from other drivers on the road. However, I have had a few people say that it’s really not better for the environment because of the fossil fuel power plants for charging and the building and disposing of the batteries.
The following is a good article about said topic. https://theecohub.com/pros-and-cons-of-electric-cars/

I would kindly say that it sounds like they are on board for a cleaner alternative energy because it sounds like they have researched this quite well and inquire how "we" could lobby for more alternative power plants that don't use coal etc.? Maybe solar or wind?

I am guessing you will hear birds chirping at that moment and then you can talk about something non-controversial like the weather.

Oh wait, they will most likely be ignorant with that as well.

On second thought, just tell them to have a nice day and go on your merry way. ?

if something so trivial as “what car you drive” causes brother to rise up against brother, then this country is basically doomed.
Not really anything new, they are just louder and have instant access to audiences now

True, however, from what I understand, oil (unlike coal) is a global commodity traded on the world market, so any added demand for oil indirectly benefits Saudi Arabia and all the oil exporters that are not friendly to the US, no matter which country the oil is actually bought from.
The United States is actually a net exporter of oil and has been since 2011.

I get ICE mustang owners saying " it's not a real mustang" but that's about it. I live in Oregon, EVERY.OTHER.CAR. IS.ELECTRIC. So needless to say, Tesla is everywhere. I still get asked "What is that?" and "Wow what a pretty color, great looking car" People have a hard time understanding that yes it is fully electric., and no it wasn't that expensive (after all the credits etc) Thing is it doesn't look like an electric car. Ford did a great job designing something different. Now... if the engineers were to just design something reliable (sorry had to... Day 59 without my car)

Key word being "net." We buy oil from the world market almost as much as we export to the world market, so the same logic about helping unfriendly countries applies whether or not we are net exporters.

Mostly positive (but I guess that is expected in Santa Cruz).

Just one (friendly tone) “That’s not a real Mustang”
Just reply, Unless you are getting paid to be a critic that you are not a "real critic".

The "real critic" was the Ford Development team. THEY are who called it a Mustang.

I was showing my car at an EV event this past Sunday. It was in a municipal parking lot surrounded by streets on all four sides. As I was having a lovely discussion with a family that owns both an ID.4 and an electric Golf, we were painfully aware of a number of motorists who made a point of revving their engines as loud as they could when they drove by.

This behavior just confuses me. What are they trying to accomplish ?. Oh, wow, your car is louder than mine. I guess I should reconsider my purchase. Thanks random stranger for influencing my purchasing decision /s. ?

Who designed that? If you watch the video at the AliExpress site it shows them opening what appears to be a gas access door on the left rear of the vehicle ?

Other than that, it looks pretty cool...although I'll have to paint it white ?
At least the charge door will stay closed in a car wash. I love the "Shock Absorption" title on the picture of a finger touching an "electric" car.
