Might just be my dealer then. I don't have an other service option, just those three. Oh well, I'll just fight my way through their phone tree. Really happy to see Ford doing something proactive like this.I did, but just filled in the box for "other service"
I had SSM 49730 done at my dealer a few weeks ago. Is this new FSA 21B36 just a different number for the same problem? I don't see that you need to bring your FOB and phone in for the (re) programming to occur. Where is this published? I made an appointment for Thursday but wonder if I'm wasting my time as it has already been done. Anybody have concrete answers? I'm confused about what to do.I just got this today...., and am betting it is the two existing SSM updates for PAAK.
Apparently has to be done at Dealership since it requires wiping out PAAK setting and updating the module it requires you to bring your phone AND your key fob to Dealership to reset/reload PAAK and BackupStartCode.
My Dealership says it is a 2 to 2-1/2 hr service..... not possible as OTA
Good morning Illinibird. Did you get the recall notice on your phone after you upgraded the fordpass app to 3.24? If not and PAAK is behaving most of the time I would not worry about it. Not a concrete answer but a suggestion.I had SSM 49730 done at my dealer a few weeks ago. Is this new FSA 21B36 just a different number for the same problem? Thank you and good morning to you! Yes, I did get the notice on the new version of Ford Pass 3.24 and there was a triangle warning symbol on the upper left of the opening screen with "Recall" below it They say Ford is providing a Customer Satisfaction Program for our cars. That's why I made the appointment. They say to contact the Customer Relationship Center with any questions so maybe I'll give them a call.Good morning Illinibird. Thanks, I'll be checking too. I don't like the thought of re-installing Ford Pass and re-configuring backup code. Do we have to re-pair our FOBs to memory positions in car or profiles? I had all this done for me by my car salesman who was very knowledgeable about the Mach E. Others I have found out, not surprisingly, are no knowledgeable at all. I hope the mechanic doing the work knows how to redo all this stuff or better yet that the Customer Relationship Center says I don't need to do it.I had Dealership pull the OASIS report, which runs by VIN, and they verified that by my build date I still need the update.... They replaced my center console to fix the black screen heat issue, but apparently the modules controlling PAAK are elsewhere.
PAAK is 'functional', but not reliable for me, so I'll press on with the update even though it's going to cost me 2+ hours sitting at the Dealership and re-installing FordPass and re-configuring my BackupStartCode.... (which is why you MUST bring in your one and only precious key Fob for this update)
I'll post more news after they complete the update.
Just speculating here, but I do not see this update erasing any profile settings... But anytime something is reset that is always a possibility. Thanks, I'll be checking too. Sounds like you need to contact your service department or the recall will start to bug you always showing up in the app. I think the third time you set it up from scratch you should have it down pat. Thanks, I'll be checking too. FWIW, Mine ain't broke, and yet I'm about to get this recall fixed next Friday the 25th... I'll report back as to what ACTUALLY breaks once they do this ?I’m rather concerned about this recall notice. PAAK works as advertised for me. I see no need to rush out to get it done, it can’t improve things (for me), that’s literally not possible. I’d be afraid it’d break things.
Thanks, that helps. Not looking forward to this but if it makes PaaK reliable, I’m in (I still get “Key Not Found” error messages sometimes).I had Dealership pull the OASIS report, which runs by VIN, and they verified that by my build date I still need the update.... Just got this back from Currie Motors where I am taking the car Thursday:Thanks, that helps. Not looking forward to this but if it makes PaaK reliable, I’m in (I still get “Key Not Found” error messages sometimes).
