I just picked up a new Mach E, CA Route 1, at a dealership yesterday. The first alert I got in the FordPass app was for this update.:rolleyes:

I am getting an extra Key Fob and they agreed to program it for free, so maybe I will get this down when I go back for that.

I just got this today...., and am betting it is the two existing SSM updates for PAAK.

Apparently has to be done at Dealership since it requires wiping out PAAK setting and updating the module it requires you to bring your phone AND your key fob to Dealership to reset/reload PAAK and BackupStartCode.

My Dealership says it is a 2 to 2-1/2 hr service..... not possible as OTA
Can you tell me the two SSM's to which you refer? Do you know where I can see a list of the SSM's?

When I click on the recall notice in the top left it just goes to a loading circle of death and spins without loading anything. I have tried shutting my phone down twice and it won't do anything besides spin on loading endlessly. ?‍♀
Mine has started doing the same thing since updating. I had to log into the ford website directly to see the customer satisfaction program listed.

Maybe this is the same as the SSM, but has been escalated to an FSA. I've already had the SSM applied, so maybe that's why I don't see it.
I had the SSM applied but I still see the recall notice. Although my experience with the SSM wasn't at good as yours, so maybe something failed to install properly before? Who knows, but if it makes it better I'm all for it in my case. On an unrelated note, I was talking with someone from Ford working on my Plug & Charge issue the other day and they did mention an upcoming PaaK update when I casually mentioned I was having issues with PaaK as well... so maybe it is different from the SSM.

Which phone do you have? Go ahead and manually update the app. There's a new update out now.

Called my local service department. "That is just an advance notice and you need to wait until we receive the software and you get a second letter telling you to come in."
PAAK is good enough for now, so not worried, but interesting to see others are booked to get it done.

Just wondering if those of us expecting delivery in the next few weeks should have to worry about this update. Will add to list of things to ask dealership about when I go to get the car
Brian - My guess is you will need to do it but you can ask Rich or check yourself on the Ford Owner site according to Ford when I called the Customer Relations Center (recording).
EDIT: Brian on another thread they had the letter from Ford about this program and said cars produced from September 23, 2020 to April 21, 2021 needed the update so your car wouldn't be affected since it was produced in May 2021.

Recall alert showed up on Ford Pass app. today. Just happened to be same day I was having after-market fob programmed by dealer, so they also updated the software config. in the remote function actuator module (RFA) to clear the error. My understanding was that RFA was in a loop to continuously restart. Maybe that fixes PAAK issues - ironically why I got second fob. But with cheapo fob and Pass points from car buy only out $130. - not too bad. I can confirm it is a 2-3 hr process which includes a call to Ford techs - my locals got no clue - your mileage my vary.

What you're describing sounds a lot like SSM 49730 I had done a couple of weeks ago. They worked on the RFA module with new code installed. I don't know what the Customer Satisfaction Program 21B36 includes but you may need to go back.

Maybe so but if the 21B36 update is available one would think (hope) the Ford tech they called today would have pushed it.

I scheduled mine on the 25th. It's a good opportunity to buy a second fob and have your dealer program it as well at the same time. Mine said $120 or less to program my $80 second fob. I hope PAAK becomes reliable but you never know.

So did you have to reinstall Ford Pass and/or reprogram your phone?
