Rotate them whenever you want - I swap summer/winter wheels every season so I just rotate at that time. I don't think I've had the same set of tires on a car for 10k continuous miles in a long time.

That said, the job is easy. You need a jack meant for heavy vehicles, and a puck or 2x4 chunk to make sure you are getting a good seat on the jack point is helpful. I do recommend a torque wrench, and since the car wants 150 ft. lbs. of torque you may need one larger than you currently have.

But really it is no different than any other vehicle of a similar weight. If you're last car was a Honda Civic then get a bigger jack and torque wrench. If you've done wheels on a pickup truck then you are probably fine already.

My question is ... Can you replace the tires in any tires place or must go back to Ford due to the fact it is an EV?
That's my concern too. I used to change tires at Costco, but after reading the fine print, basically saying they aren't responsible for anything, I'm hesitating doing that.

It isn't necessary to go to the dealer. Any competent tire shop should be able to handle the job provided they have a means to lift and support the car at the correct lift points.

Very important the tire specs are correct though. First determine the specs for your OEM tires and match those as best as you can. Some deviation is allowable but within reason. This link is useful.

For those that don't know, @Discount Tire will remove, balance, and rotate your tires for free. In addition, when you buy a new car, you can then buy their tire certificates, which are a warranty for repair, replacement, or refund if the tire is damaged. Cost I believe is based on tire value, mid-$40.00 as I recall.

They will also patch (not plug) your tires for free for anyone.

Both free services are designed to convert you to a customer.

Yes, I know the website doesn't state "free". But that has been my experience, including moving to their service area with used vehicles, bringing in new vehicles, and having flats on tires not purchased from them.

Thank you for the shoutout! We are glad to hear our store has taken care of you.

We are happy to offer rotation and balancing services. Our stores are also equipped with the technology and training to safely work on the Mustang Mach-E.

Our certificates are a great way to protect against unexpected tire damage.

So I'm new to the idea of EV's, but I just finished a brake job with new calipers in my garage on my Flex....but other than reprogramming the location for the tire pressure sensors, why would an EV be any different from any other car when it comes to lifting or rotating tires?

Only difference is the increase in the car's weight. I found this out the hard way when I folded a Ford Fusion jack, and 15 minutes later, my neighbor's Crown Victoria jack, right in half under my Mach E.

@redMachE22 The wheels attach to an EV the exact same way as most passenger cars. Any shop that can rotate an ICE cars tires can rotate an EV cars tires. You do not need to take back to Ford. In fact take to whoever is the most competent mechanic you know and just stick with them and give them the info on Jack points provided in an earlier post.

Every 10K. Looks like they’re good for 50K… barely.

I have experience doing this for an ICE, but not an EV. I am worried I will jack it up at the wrong point and mess up the battery. Has anyone successfully done this? Do I need any special equipment (besides a standard jack and torque wrench) or should I just take it to the Ford dealer?
Local garage charges $15 for 4 wheel rotation every 5000 miles.

No reprogramming is necessary. Just drive.

Heavy weight of Mach-E, very specific jack points, pucks recommended. People mistakenly jack on battery pack, damage...

I had my tires rotated by the Ford dealer and paid for it with Fordpass points so didn't cost me anything.
