When I use the music app on Apple CarPlay to access my mp3 library the menus do not display properly.

When I click on Artists it takes me to a screen that randomly lists like fifteen artists and then when I click on an artist it won’t show albums it’ll just be a shuffled playlist of their songs.

Sometimes it behaves and all my artists are displayed alphabetically and there is the A to Z # icon on the right of the screen that allows me to quickly navigate my artists by letter. This is what I need to be able to access all of my music but it rarely displays like this.

I’ve tried restarting my phone as well as disconnecting and reconnecting my phone with CarPlay but these troubleshooting solutions don’t seem to work.

Is there something wrong with my CarPlay settings?

I think you're seeing a mode change in the artist list between "moving" and "stopped." When you're moving, you'll get an abbreviated list of the last X many artists you've played (or it chose) and you only get the full list when you're stopped.

I'd need to go out to the car to test this to be sure, but I'm like 95% positive that's what you're seeing.

This. ☝
You need to use Siri when moving.
