Long-time Ford SUV and truck owner. But new to Mustang, and new to EV. 1990 Ranger, 2001 Escape, 2013 Escape. And learned to drive on my dad's 1966 F-100.

If the Mach-e wasn't a crossover, I wouldn't be interested. But I want to pair a BEV SUV/crossover (for around-home driving) with my ICE Escape.

If it wasn't for the $7500 federal tax credit (and a $2500 state tax credit), I'd probably hold off a few more years for a truer SUV. But the credits will be gone by then. Hard to leave 10 grand on the table.

My entire history with Ford (sorry if it's a bit long):

Got in my first car accident in a 1980 Mustang in around 1985.

Had a Ford Probe I drove high school over 20 years ago (non-GT). It was fine car, but got in an accident with that one and it was never the same.

Also in high school 2 of my buddies both drove '66 Mustangs. Another friend at the time had a brand new Cobra.

My wife had a 2003 Focus that had a ton of issues (mainly transmission), and so we thought we were done with Ford.

We had an Edge as a rental a few years back, and it was nice.

Had a Fusion rental in Texas and the transmission was a POS.

Coincidentally, currently we have another rental and it's an Ford Ecosport. It's actually a cool little car.

I really liked the 6th gen Mustang a few years back but we were expecting baby at the time and it just wasn't practical.

I never thought I'd own a Ford again, but the it looks like the stars are aligning and the Mach-e is checking off all of the things I'm looking for in a car.

That's consistent with what my general take on Ford has been for decades... They make great trucks and SUVs, but lousy cars.

Never owned a Ford...and even considerd one really. I grew up in the 80's when American cars were not...great. So I had all of these prejudices about them, and only bought foreign as a young adult. But I'm older now, and American cars have certainly caught up....and now I drive a Chevy Volt, and love it. So my purchasing history is...Nissan, Acura, VW, and now Chevy. If the Mach E is everything we're hoping it is, I'll add Ford to that list. :)

This will be my 6th consecutive Ford in the family, replacing a Fusion Energi (which replaced a Fusion Hybrid, and on the SUV side we had a Taurus X, Explorer, and now an Edge I expect we will eventually replace with the Escape PHEV). Didn't intend to be Ford-only, but preference for US brand, mass-market (not premium/luxury) labels and, at this point, frankly no excuse to buy a car that is not at least partially electric, and I admire that Ford was one of the first with hybrids, although a laggard on BEV has now done so in a far more serious way than GM or FCA, sided with CA on emissions and fuel economy, and never went into bankruptcy or took taxpayer bailout. So every time we shop, we end up with Ford :).

I have had Fords going back to my 1984 Escort including a 1997 Mercury Mystique. My wife has a 2018 Mustang GT convertible. I like the styling and ride a lot. We are hoping to become a two Mustang family.

I did grow up in a Ford Sierra. Then my first car was a Ford Fiesta, followed by 3 Fiats (Ritmo, Bravo, Stilo), a Lancia Thema, Little Chevy ( cannot remember the type), Nissan Qashqai, Dodge Journey (terrible car), Ford Grand C-MAX, then my first EV a Renault Twizy for years ago, followed by Hyundai Ioniq electric 2 years ago.

so 2 evs atm and 2 fords in the past.

Owned a 1966 Mustang way back in the 90s. my wife got a CMax Energi 5 years ago, which was perfectly fine other than the horrific turning radius, which we’ve since sold. The Mach E will be for me.

This will be my first Ford and first American car since college. I'm curious about fellow members' perceptions of the traditional big 3 US companies - Ford, FCA, GM....

If the Mach-E wasn't a Ford product but was instead by FCA or GM, would you guys still be interested? Putting aside how awkward it would be to have a Mustang styled inspired car with another company's badge of course :)

My wife's uncle worked for Chrysler for 38 years, so she uses him to get discounts on Dodge's (Durangos and mini vans) for herself. I don't like to overuse a favor, and I am not actually a fan of Dodge's sports cars (which is what I buy for myself). I've owned a few GM's over the years that were fine, but am definitely a "Ford" guy as most of my "driving life" has been in a Ford (primarily mustangs). In all that time (got my license in 1983) I've never had major issues or complaints with the cars, and generally can say I am happy with what I've had. I have had major issues with dealers, but that has nothing to do with the manufacturer. If there are major issues with the Mach-E, Ford will do the right thing.

My first new car was a 1973 Mustang Mach-1. The sticker price was $4,400.00, bought it for $4,250.00 and I was scared to death of a $150.00 per month car payment for 36 months!!!

Those were the days......

Went to electric driving in 2012.

2012 Volt - Still own it.

Leased a Ford C-Max Energi in 2015 for two years. OK vehicle - not enough range and hated the battery in the rear cargo area.

Leased a Bolt in 2017 for 39 months. It is a great vehicle, just with the interior was nicer.

Looking forward to the Mach-e!!!

Never - in fact the first time I ever set foot in a Ford dealership was to ask about the Mach-e. Always had imports, until finally buying a Saturn Outlook in 2008. Had its fair share of issues, but all covered under warranty. So that kinda got me warmer to the idea of owning American.

Still have a Volvo XC90 and a VW Sportwagen though - baby steps... :)
