Tried to use P&C for the first time today. Both attempts failed with a "Charge Station Fault", not too surprising based on others feedback. Next time I'll to go through the FP app see if that makes a difference. Assuming it does work, I'd hardly consider that "Plug & Charge". First world problem I know, but damn this is a bad look for Ford, especially since it has been in issue since pre and post launch.

I've tried to charge at Electrify america a couple of times over the past month with mixed results. Usually it will work but after using my credit card information (not using plug and charge or my free kwh).

Today was the first time plug and charge worked on the first try, and not only that but my free kwh were deducted. I don't think I did anything differently, but glad it finally worked! Charged from 24% to 70% in 25 mins.

Looks like he made the run from LA to Fort Collins in one shot. That stop looks like Glenwood Springs so I'm curious if he made another stop after that or just went for it.

Sure seems like EA/Ford have done some additional tweaking behind the scenes since release. I have about 4200 miles on my car (with most of that from road tripping) and P&C has worked on the first try for me close to twenty times now. I've already plowed through my free 500kWh, and even though it's charging me at the non-member rate, there is no denying the convenience. I was pleasantly surprised at my success rate after reading about the issues people have been having.

Charged at EA in Aurora IL yesterday and P&C worked flawlessly the first time I plugged in. It helped me with my anxiety of charging on the road. It debited my 250 kW from Ford so it didn’t cost me anything. So this will be my station to charge at when I see my oldest daughter. I think I could have made it home without even charging but I wanted to make an attempt anyway. The weather was nice so no A/C but I didn’t hold down the speed often going between 75-80 mph in spots. I followed the speed limit in many of the other spots. I also tried a Charge Point in DeKalb which worked fine and was free but man was it slow. It would be a good choice if I could leave the car there and come back in several hours.

EA has been working well for us on our first road trip. Next thing they need to work out is how to integrate the EA+ member rate into Plug and Charge process and all will be good (and even better if the charging curve in worked out)!
Definitely the member+ rate needs to be available through P&C, but if it protects the longevity and stability of the battery I am OK with the DCFC charging curve. A lot of hullabaloo is made about the 80% cliff, but if you ever watch @OutofSpecKyle, Bjorn Nyland, or any of the other BEV road warriors they NEVER charge to 100% in any car. They always charge until the curve starts to drop off and then move on - which happens well before 80% in any BEV (except maybe the etron).

I would often charge my Model 3 above 80% on road trips. For example, I live in Atlanta and I have family in Birmingham, AL. Because the EA station in Birmingham is not in town, it's actually closer to my family than the Tesla Supercharger (which is downtown) my trip back home after I charge is about 40-50 miles longer. In my Tesla I could leave with 90% and get back home with 25% charge. Now, with my Mach E, I'm leaving with less battery (80%) and driving a longer distance (+40 miles) and I'm getting home with 10% or less battery. And that's with me driving much slower than I normally would.

I understand that it can't charge to 95% at 150kW, but falling completely off the cliff at 80% is ridiculous, especially given how much buffer there is in the battery and how relatively low the battery degradation warranty is (70%)

Hopefully as they get more experience with the battery we can a) get 150kW longer and b) get more than 11kW or whatever above 80%. On a multiple stop road trip, sure, just leaving when the curve drops off is better but there are a lot of trips where the extra 5% is all you *really* need and the overhead of getting off the highway and finding the charger is not ideal.

Otherwise, why even sell the car with that capacity advertised, just sell it with less capacity advertised, give it even more buffer, and tell people to feel free to charge to 100%

We used DCFC for the first time today at an EA station (150 kW). We used plug and charge; we pulled up and plugged in, and it began charging without any issue. We pulled 53 kWh in 32 minutes (23%-80%). I was very pleased with the experience.
Yes, drove to NorCal on Thursday and stopped at 2 different EA stations (Paso Robles and Gilroy). Used Plug N Charge at both and they worked flawlessly. 53 kWh and 45kWh and did it quickly (150 chargers). Automatically deducted from my Ford 500kWh bank.
I was a little apprehensive beforehand because I had never used a DCFC and some of the issues mentioned on the Forum, but worked with no problems!

Driving home today, stopped at the same chargers in reverse. One at Gilroy worked perfect again. When I plugged in at Paso Robles, it charged, but slowly, so switched chargers and all was great. While I was charging, the EA repair guy showed up to fix the one I was using originally!

Charged at the Palm Springs EA tonight before returning home tomorrow morning. Pulled up at 28%, and left at 65% (added 36 kWh). Charging time took 20 minutes.

Plug & Charge worked perfectly once again.

Just made a Road trip from Tampa to the North Carolina mountains and back. Used EA 6 times. It was flawless 5 times. One time had to switch chargers and the second worked as advertised.

Charging takes 30-35 minutes to go from ~20% - 80%.

I used both 150 and 350 CCS units - not much difference in time. 350 starts out a little faster but overall time is close.

Per minute rates in Georgia are half the price of per kw rates in florida - $20 vs. $10 (still had free kw’s from Ford).

Only saw 3 other EV’s at all of the stops.

Was happy to see one EA at a gas station until I saw the bathroom. Walmart’s aren’t so bad now. Just wish there were window washers and trash cans.

Used a couple Charge Points. One worked fine with wallet card and tap and pay on iPhone. One I had to use the app.

I don’t mind the stops - not as in a hurry as I used to be (no hot dates on the other end I guess.)

Everyone wants to know how long it takes to charge and how much it costs.

The nav in the mustang took me to the same stops that I chose in planning the trip. I just wish it wouldn’t dump the route when you turn the car off to charge. Maybe I’m doing something wrong.

When my range dropped due to my speed and traffic rerouting, nav rerouted me to one last charger to get home with more than 15 mile range.

Overall, a fairly painless trip.

Just today I went back to a EA charge station I tried twice in the past with P&C with no success. First time ever P&C worked flawlessly! I used the exact stall and plug as the other two times as well. I've see others report success too. Maybe the issues are finally being ironed out.
