Took a 78 mile interstate ride this PM. 27-28F and breezy.

Heat set at 70F, e-heat on, fan locked on 1. Cabin was perfect. Both seat heaters on and heated wheel.

2 Adults and 100# of cargo. Unplugged from the charger at 93% in Augusta, Maine. Exited in Bangor Maine.

Absolutely awesome BlueCruise set on 72 the entire way. Speed limit 70. A few passes of slow folks along the way. I am blown away by how well Bluecruise works. I never had to hold the wheel in a turn and it never pulled left at off ramps. This system is grand.

2.3 Mi/kWh or 2.3x88=203 miles of Range! I was astonished. Considering an EPA of 270 and I estimated 33% range loss, that results in only a 25% loss. Considering that’s over 70 MPH and well below freezing, no complaints.

Last evening we drove 96 miles, cruise set at 62 MPH, (probably averaged 50-55) hilly travel, 34-35F snow and rain the whole trip. Heat set on 68F, 2 seats and wheel on, 3 Adults. We averaged 2.6 mi/kWh or 2.6*88=229 miles.

I have no complaints about the Mach E in Winter weather. The GOM is not accurate yet but with only 557 miles on the car there’s more time to calibrate.

Very nice numbers. 21°F outside and I drove 8 miles to work this morning. Remote started while still in the garage and plugged in to pre-warm. Heated seat and wheel on. Cabin temp at 68° and fan on auto 1. Didn’t do over 55MPH and only got 2.3 miles/kwh. So my AWD ER would be at 202 @100%. I still call that a win.

Remember that with 21P22, battery has increased 3.4% to 91kWh, so range should also increase.

I thought it was confirmed that 21P22 improved charging but does not unlock more range?

I have not seen any post that said that it didn't unlock the extra battery, making it the same as the 22s.

If you read through that thread you'll see a member posted a response from Darren Palmer that the update is coming via an OTA update and Mike Levine confirmed it as did the Ford team on this forum. So yes, if it's not in 21P22, then it's coming soon. But nowhere has it been stated that it wasn't in 21P22. Given that only job 1 vehicles got 21P22, it remains ambiguous as to when it gets done to which vehicles.

You shouldn't use 88 kWh in your figuring during the winter, it's probably closer to 80 kWh (maybe less) because of cold capacity loss. It would be better if you went by the % change and miles driven to derive 100% range.

EDIT: Just noticed this is an old topic.

Just took my car yesterday on our usual trip to grandma's. The first/last leg is always the same route between home and the EA charger about halfway there. Premium 4X Mach-E.

Finished charging at home to 100% at 4:15 AM. Departure time set for 5:55 AM, set to warm. It was 5F degree's outside. No traffic since it was 6 AM on Sunday. ACC set to 75 (speed limit 70). Heat on 68 auto 1, heated seat on auto and heated steering wheel on. One adult one child for the trip this time.

105 miles from home to the EA station. Left at 100% arrived at 43%. 2.1 miles per kWh avg. Slight uphill on this leg, net elevation gain of about 200 ft.

105 miles going back home. We left the same EA station at 66% (stopped charging when it just clicked over to 66%). Now it's 29F degrees outside. ACC set to 75 (speed limit 70). Heat on 68 auto 1, heated seat on auto and heated steering wheel on. Slightly downhill ~200 ft. net. Arrived home at 19% so 2.5 avg. miles per kWh.

Way too cold for me, but our forecast is calling for upper 30’s tonight! We are still averaging 3.5 miles per kWh, not bad for Winter! :)
Flordia doesn't get winter. From my visits there, you have the seasons of: Tolerable (winter), way too hot/humid (spring), hellscape (summer), thanks god it is only too hot again (fall).

Yes old, but someone else just reported 204 miles under similar conditions so I think it’s pretty accurate. Battery size does not change due to weather. It’s 88 kWh all the time it’s full. It may have different “depletion rates” based on Ambient temps, but that’s what the car tries to do with preconditioning and battery temperature controls as you drive in colder weather. Hopefully the system keeps that’s battery at a balmy 70 all the time. I really have no idea what it Maintains it at, but it should be some set point that helps make the battery happy.

Norm, what psi are your tires inflated to? Tire pressure can cause range to vary up to 10%, and cold weather drops tire pressure, so just curious if you are maintaining 40 psi.
