20,299 miles. Happened last night during cruise, not a WOT event. Probably DCFC’d 15-20 times ever, still have 150 of our free 500kwh.

Car is going in to dealer this afternoon and I already called the Ford BEV team and got a case set up for any potential assistance in the process.

Yippee-ki-yay!

...and I thought you were going to say Metallica dropped a new single today. This is not a fun as that. At all.

Let's hope she gets fixed and back on the road ASAP.

it really IS a nice feeling getting that HVBJB remove/replace out of the way. No more worries!

so you were actually able to reach the BEV team? I keep reading stories in here of people being told by reps that they've never heard of that team.

you really don't NEED the BEV team or a case number if the Dealership knows to order the HVBJB via the COPIS system and (hopefully) has been trained and Certified on the work.

My BEV team communication was several days behind once my Dealership ordered the part. The BEV team didn't make things go any faster.... but did give me an opportunity to Vent and suggest that Dealerships should be allowed to:
- verify DTC with remote FDRS reads to authorize serive
- stock one GT and one non-GT HVBJB once they are certified, and use new cases coming in to re-stock inventory on site

Join the club. I feel like we might all join the club. I know it’s an echo chamber in here for bad news, but it wouldn’t surprise me.
I do think it is just a matter of time for the 50,000 vehicles with gen.1 HVBJB.
It is a big relief to get the REAL recall remove/replace done!

Sorry to see you had the dreaded SVS. I assume you pulled codes and verified HVBJB. I hope it goes smoothly for you. I’m still trying to make it through to mid-spring before I blow mine up. 😱🐩

I think I saw another forum member post they made it to 35k before the failure occurred? Something like that. As cars start exceeding the power train warranty mileage, will Ford still pay for the repair?

What a bummer. I hope that the HVBJB ordering/arrival goes smoothly and you're back beating Teslas off the line in short order.

I've been thinking about maybe trying to induce failure driving hard just before I leave for three weeks over the holidays, in hopes that it will fail and be fixed by my return...

I doubt it hence the lack of a proper recall, kick the can down the road as far as possible and hope the largest % of future failures are when the power train is out of warranty.

It seems the key to make it fail is sustained high speed driving, preferably up a mountain. The Grapevine in CA has killed at least two HVBJBs that we know of.

Yup. While Grapevine would be a bit of a trek from here, I-580 over the Altamont Pass should do the trick...
