I posted them in your actual post. You commented on it that it is the correct part. Here's the link.

oh yeah.... part number for the HVBJB, which they label as 'connector' looks right, but usually the replacement tickets include line items for replacement coolant as well. I would hate to think the Dealership did not replace coolant, or didn't purge it correctly. If they didn't do it 'right', it might explain overheating and failure of a 'new' HVBJB.

There was a map @DevSecOps was maintaining to show how many replacements have been done, at which dealerships, and how fast... but I dunno if that is being maintained.
Even though I'm barely active on the forums anymore it is still being updated when people submit their forms.

Yeah that sucks for me and the car but that's also on ford too. You think ford follow up on this or check on this? Especially dig into it after the second one has failed, but they also don't give a crap as I've not heard from any of my case managers on any of this

This is very disconcerting. It’s the first we are hearing of the new HVBJB having an actual failure. Ugh. 🤬🐩

well..... I would consider having a different Dealership do the 2nd replacement, preferably a Dealership that has done more than one of these replacements already. Not seeing lines for replacement coolant and modules updates post-replacement makes me suspicious. I would question to be sure the Tech was trained on this particular procedure, and hopefully has done more than one.

Do you have the TSB of the procedure or where it says they're supposed to change a coolant lines. There's no dealers near me that have done this. I'm in the midwest. We're so far behind an EVTech. You're not cool if you don't have a truck. I know I'll ask the dealer and they'll be like. Oh yeah, I know we're trained. We know what we're doing

they don't replace the lines.

they DO have to drain coolant from battery loop before dropping the battery tray.... and then then have to replace the coolant after re-installing battery tray, without introducing an air bubble that could cause air lock in circulation pump. If they filled reservoir from top it could have caused a problem with cooling. They *may* have just replaced the fluid they drained, but I think the Service manual recommends they replace with new which is why it shows up as allowable materials covered by warranty replacement.

regardless, I would just ask if their tech is certified and trained on this specific procedure, or maybe they want to ask a Ford Field Engr support person to supervise this next one to make sure they do it right. If you have a BEV team and case, maybe they can work on getting a Field Engr to your Dealership for a little on-site training.

Oh I've tried contacting them multiple times each time I get a new case number and a new case member and they give me nowhere and nothing done. I called them today and supposedly got an EV tech specialist that's going to reach out to me. We're see how that goes. I can guarantee I'm not going to get a phone call. I'll have to reach out to them and I won't get anything Besides, we're trying and we're doing the best we can.

at the end of the day, its between you and your Dealership.
If there are no nearby alternatives.... make friends with your Service Dept manager, make sure they order thru COPIS, and use your BEV team contact to try to get a Ford Field Engr there to help if your Dealership seems to be clueless.

So sad to hear about all the failed HVBJB, especially the revised one. Hopefully its just a defective part, but who knows. We didn't really see a big number of failures until the OTA recall software. I wonder how many of the 50k MME have had their HVBJB replaced?

It seems the key to make it fail is sustained high speed driving, preferably up a mountain. The Grapevine in CA has killed at least two HVBJBs that we know of.
I am considering taking my '22 GT up the grapevine to try and induce failure..... Am only at <9k miles total so far. But I went pretty hard on the Ortega Hwy this weekend.

what is the date of your build?
you may not NEED to try and kill the HVBJB if your build has the new one. Have you plugged your VIN into the recall query? https://www.ford.com/support/recalls/

Our 2021 did it at 6,900 miles. Took about a week for repair.

20,299 miles. Happened last night during cruise, not a WOT event. Probably DCFC’d 15-20 times ever, still have 150 of our free 500kwh.

Car is going in to dealer this afternoon and I already called the Ford BEV team and got a case set up for any potential assistance in the process.

Yippee-ki-yay!
Sadly mines been off the road since 10th of October 2022 with 6700miles and in the dealers compound awaiting parts and specialised tools and a specially trained technician to be able to fix. The Ford Executive Office tell me that it should be fixed by the 8th of December. We’ll see!
