You know what Bose stands for, right? Buy other sound equipment.I’m not an audiophile but I am an audio /home theater enthusiast and I think the B&O is decent once you tailor the bass/mids/highs to your liking. The factory “sub” peters out below about 40Hz and is the easiest bang for the buck upgrade.
As stated above, the DSP that has been applied is tailored to the OEM B&O speakers and MME interior characteristics. However, that doesn’t mean a good set of 2 or 3-way direct fit speakers couldn’t improve the sound via improved frequency response and imaging.
Regarding the Bose comparisons - yeah Bose is just marketing BS mostly. Catchy terms like acoustimass, direct reflecting, stereo everywhere etc. cannot hide the fact that Bose uses inferior paper cone tweeters rather than domes and that their sorry bandpass “subs” usually struggle with any bass below 45-50Hz. “No highs, no lows, gotta be Bose” is what we used to say.
