Whether he knows something or not, the advice is sound. I was already considering turning off automatic updates until we really know what the software update does, or doesn't do.

I dropped mine off at Walnut Creek ford yesterday around 2:00 and had it back by 4:00 so I think you will be fine.

Yep picked mine up by noon, washed and wiper fluid topped off gratis. Customer service? This day and age? Wow, flummoxed doesn't quite do justice to the reaction.

If you live in the East Bay this is clearly the place to do Ford biz.

I'm just simply stating what I'm doing in regards to this update. I don't want it yet. For a 0.5% chance of something happening I'll hold off until others see how it goes. There's been too many times where I've updated staging servers just to see everything go bat-sh*t wrong. I'll let all you paranoid people experiment with it for a while.

I'm taking your word over everyone else. Ford / Ford engineers just cower in silence on here.

I ran PCM first and it pulled everything else in. No issues. Nothing else to run (of the powertrain modules at least). Just make sure you don't haphazardly run other things out of order and you shouldn't have trouble. (Just did it 45 minutes ago!)

Great Customer Service after having to wait for delivery and being on vacation; they are delivering to the house tomorrow and picking-up the trade-in. Class act. In the 8 months between order and delivery every interaction with staff was very good. Funny they all had good listening skills and engaged to make me delighted. They seem to be having trouble with your ABS update throwing DTCs that they can't clear. They should try and continue on and do the BCM update but they're focused on just re-doing the ABS one. They haven't touched the car today, they only worked on it yesterday.

The general consensus seems to be the updates do not affect performance, and it remains to be seen if the updates actually prevent stranded vehicles. So far there are no reasons not to update.
