People think the battery technology is new or some great new thing it's been around for a long time before but the batteries weren't that great here you see where people already thought of building charging stations in factories to power in their delivery vehicles. So what we have in our golf carts with a fancy iPhone in the center. Don't get me wrong they're fun but know that it's nothing really new.

“The electric car is perfectly noiseless and clean. There is no smell or vibration, and they should become very useful when fixed charging stations can be arranged.”

-Charles Rolls, 1900 (4 years before he met Henry Royce)

It’s almost like there’s some other forces at work to keep ICE vehicles at the forefront

Wind, solar and nuclear were still decades away as was a reliable power grid. ICE had to be the stepping stone back to EV. You could carry flamable liquids in a bucket.... That's too easy to ignore.

I just thought it was cool to share the history of electric vehicles and how oil companies have somehow managed to maintain the relevance for so long.

I wonder if any of those Chicago permits are still valid. Or if any of the old infrastructure is still there.

In re oil, convenience counts, and for the most part gas has been dirt cheap. I mean, aside from the wars and cancer and environment and stuff.
