I've looked at all the route planning options, and A Better Route Planner is by far the superior solution out there. It's actually making me feel very confident about road trips in this vehicle. I think I'll actually like making longer stops to rest, eat, or have a cup of coffee while I charge. Up to this point in my life, I've been way too impatient about getting to a destination.

May be not a great suggestion but here it is - Austin is not too far from these locations and Austin has bunch of chargers. So you could use Austin to charge as you arrive from Houston (I know its a bit of detour) or on way back.

Or San Antonio
There would be other people riding with me, and I'm quite sure they elect to take their own car rather than take a detour to Austin.

I considered that I might be able to make it on one charge. However, I live on the opposite side of Houston from Livingston so at least another 40 miles must be added to the distance. I know of no motels or hotels that include charging. Do they exist?
Yes, they do exist. (And not like Bigfoot exists.) They are listed on PlugShare.
I have no knowledge of your area, but I can see a bunch here on the map.
Hampton Inn & Suites Spring, Tx
Holiday Inn Express Jasper, TX
La Paz B&B
Margaritaville Lake Resort & Spa
many more and dozen of RV parks if that's your thing.

Try PlugShare.com It is the BEST app. And by using it you make it better.

Or maybe you could ride with them in their gas car.

I'll have a look. Thanks.
When I plan EV trips, I check PlugShare, and read the reviews. Been doing it for a few years and the software has only gotten better. My first trip with Ruby, I will plan a route using PlugShare, A Better Route Planner, and the car itself. Last time in my Kona (50 mile shorter range than my new Mach E), I found a nice hotel at my destination that had a fast DC charger, cost a whopping $4 to add 40 kWh in less than an hour (rates are set by the owner), so I stayed at that hotel - a Marriott as I recall. Life is an adventure!!
