Looking for advice on what the best hardwired wall charger is in the market for a 2021 MME premium AWD ER. Ford providing the mobile charger for free, but would like other options. Electrician highly recommended Charge point WiFi hardwired. Open to suggestions. Have at least at week or two to order and install.

Asked and answered many times. I suggest you look at Tesla universal to future proof the installation. It also runs up to 11.5 kW, which is helpful.

Telsa universal all the way. It's fast, works on every EV I've charged and it's relatively cheap for a connected charger compared to anything out there considering it has NACS and J1772.

I have 3 different EV chargers, Charegpoint, Wallbox and Tesla. The only one I use is the Tesla charger. It just works.

I have the chargepoint with the 1450 plug. I didn’t want to hardwire for ease of removal if I move. Works great

I’ve had a Chargepoint for 4 years and works Great. I especially like how flexible the cord is. When I look at Amazon the Chargepoint and Tesla chargers are priced the same and have similar ratings. I like the looks of the Chargepoint better but that’s just my opinion.

ChargePoint HomeFlex very reliable and easy to use. It’s not as fancy with energy mgmt features like Emporia so it depends on whether you need to have charging rates because of your panel capacity or managing solar or battery sources.

The home flex has a replacement cable if/when you need to have NACS as I’m assuming you’ll want to start with J1772. Reviews are you can swap out yourself don’t need an electrician to do. Emporia does not or it didn’t when I was looking as they didn’t account for different cable size. Tesla is of course universal but then you’re getting a Tesla. Would also check with your utility provider in case they have incentives. Ours offered rebates on the install for ChargePoint and Emporia so that helped to narrow it down.

I use the Ford Connected Charge Station. It has worked fine for the past 2+ years, except the wifi component went down. I contacted Ford. They sent me a replacement and paid for the installation.
It appears that I am in minority by using a Ford charger.

I went with the ChargePoint Home Flex and could not be happier. I went with the “plug in” rather than hardwire. The bid to hardwire was way more than I was willing to pay and I already have an RV hookup with a 50 amp outlet so I just mount next to that and plugged it in. The charger cord was long enough to easily reach the MME in the garage.
