I wouldn’t call it vaporware since clearly other people have gotten it. It’s more like we’re being picked last for the kickball team on the schoolyard. Sometimes it’s better to play video games than kickball.

2021 Job 2 with 3 yrs coming up next month. I received a double surprise two days ago. First Ford extended my handsfree for 1 yr no charge then within a couple of hours I received notice of a pending download. To my surprise I now have BC 1.3. Haven't tried it yet but will soon

Going to side with Oxford over Wikipedia.

Late would encompass almost all software released. Especially updates….i don’t think anyone considers majority of software they are actively using as vaporware.

The only thing that particular update did was break my remote climate control. It no longer works at all let alone have temperature adjustment.

Correlation does not equal causation but that update is extremely close in time to the refusal to remote start the climate control.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app?

As someone who works in software almost every release is late. And also any shiny new product that investors are excited for is being sold before it's finished being designed. Demo with mock up screen shots, and most of the time they don't actually fully develop until after it's been sold.

Then it gets to me, "so someone bought this, expects it in 3 months and I am supposed to deliver, but at the same time you are now asking me how I think it should work....That's Vaporware!

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app?

FordPass? No. I'm unlikely to do that either. It's been a royal pain to get it back the last two times I did that.

As mentioned here or in another thread though, it seems to be a communications issue. When I'm in Kona or Waimea I can hit it well outside of Bluetooth range and it works fine every time. When I'm at home I need to be close to the car, within Bluetooth range to get it to work consistently. If I'm outside of Bluetooth range it fails 9+ times out of 10. The car is connected to wifi and has a strong signal. It finished downloading the gateway module while at home. I had a 99%+ success rate using remote climate control before that update. I also have AT&T on my iPhone and there is decent signal strength at home and in the garage (2 bars).

It downloaded and installed 10.1.0 just a bit ago. We'll see if there are any changes to this particular behavior.

Ditto. 10.1.0 came while visiting our daughter and daughter in law. The screen rebooted so I knew something was up. “System Update” reported an incomplete install but by the time I’d dropped June off for her ukulele jam it had installed properly. I checked and Public Charging now works underway.
