So… after reading MANY BlueCruise posts over this past year specifically, I’ve finally come to realize that, though my 2021 looks almost identical to a 2022/23, from a software POV, they aren’t! Though Ford never gets terribly specific about the software platform differences… I must accept that OTA’s can only go so far to bring my 2021 ‘current’. And yes, like so many others… I forked over $600 for a BlueCruise product/experience I’ve yet to receive. Such is the life of an ‘early adopter’. I only hope that when it finally arrives, it’ll be worth the wait and $$$. And… Ford needs to reset my 3-year $600 subscription to the date that darn OTA arrives in my 2021.

I have a 2021 GT and I have also used FDRS to update modules in the past, although probably not since over a year ago. How do I find out what version of BlueCruise is currently installed?
You can check your IPMA software level (I believe its DID F188). From what I can gather, this is the correspondence:

1.0 = ML3T-14H102-ABS
1.2 = PJ6T-14H102-ABK
1.3 = RJ6T-14H102-BAE
”1.4” = RJ6T-14H102-ACJ

Hi Mustang Mach-E Owners –

For those of you that have received the BlueCruise 1.3 software update, we hope you are enjoying the improved performance and new features!

As a result of the software update rollout, we have seen some questions pop up around the slider options within ‘Settings’ on the in-vehicle screen and wanted to provide some additional information. We want to apologize for any confusion.

The BlueCruise 1.3 software update is a large package, and this software rollout is done in segments as we update multiple system modules, including the in-vehicle screen. Based on your model year, some owners may experience a delay in getting updates via ‘Settings’ on the in-vehicle screen. Not to worry, this will all be restored with a future software update. We also want to assure you that the sequence in which we roll out the software update has a thoughtful process on the backend.

Here are more details if you are experiencing this:
  • When you receive the BlueCruise 1.3 software update, ‘Lane Change Assist’ and ‘In-Lane Repositioning’ will be turned ON automatically.
  • You may have noticed that if you go into your in-vehicle screen ‘Driver Assistance’ settings, there may no longer be a toggle option to turn the settings OFF. The toggle option to turn these features ON and OFF will be refreshed with a future software update.
  • Some of you may have noticed that the ‘Speed Tolerance’ settings associated with Speed Sign Recognition are no longer accessible. If you are impacted by this it will also be addressed with a future software update. Look for this feature to be renamed to ‘Predictive Speed Assist’.
  • If you want to turn off your BlueCruise functionality for any reason, you can do so by toggling off the ‘Lane Centering with Hands Free’ slider within the Adaptive Cruise Control menu in Driver Assistance settings.
Thank you for your patience as we work to roll out BlueCruise 1.3 to all of our 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E owners!
@Ford Motor Company It would be nice to have an ETA on the release. My 2022 Mach-E tried to apply the update, failed, and for weeks its said it will be "ready soon". Also, I signed up for beta access but haven't heard anything.

Hey @Ford Motor Company, 2021 owner here. Still waiting for the update! What’s taking so long? My 3 year “trial“ will soon expire. Does the roll out strategy even take that into account? Ford falling on the job again!

This is completely planned by ford for a money grab. 21s expiring will need to renew.

Same here. 2021 Job 2 in early access and I'm still on Blue Cruise 1.0.

How do I know what version of BC I have?
When was your car built?
When did you purchase your car? New or used?
Have you ever seen a screen telling you that a BlueCruise update was installed?

No, not me. But I bought a 3-year BC subscription for my 2021 -job1 today on the promise that I will receive the 1.3 update before September 23, 2024. I have an email from Ford that documents this "guarantee". However, I'm prepared to request consideration if I don't get BC 1.3 by the date promised.

Ford will deploy BC1.3 to the 2021s according to a thoughtful schedule developed thoughtfully on the back end. It may be soon. Or maybe not. Hope that helps.

Yes, I have a 2021 Job2 RWD MME, and I previously implemented BC 1.4 using a combination of FDRS and ForScan. Earlier this week, updates to IPMA and PSCM modules appeared on FDRS, and after updating those modules yesterday, I now have the same BC 1.3 that has already been offered to MY 22 and 23's.

Since those two updates just appeared in FDRS, I'm thinking BC 1.3 will be offered to 2021's by OTA very soon.

Seems like you are one of the first 2021 owners to report that you received the 1.3 OTA. Exciting and can’t wait to get my update!
