If they found an issue and are fixing it before the rollout of the BC OTA begins then just say so.

I know you're not saying this is necessarily the issue, but hot damn Ford loves to shoot themselves in the foot. This shouldn't be their first OTA rodeo, yet they almost always find "issues". And why on earth would they put out several official announcements if they were near 100% certain there are no outstanding issues? No one put a gun to their head. All they could have said is, "Yes, everyone gets BC 1.3, and it'll be rolled out by the end of the year", rather than "end of summer".

My 14 max pro updated to iOS 17 last week. My series 7 watch updated the next day.

Last week, Ford gave several Mach E and Lightning owners (including me) the opportunity to test BlueCruise 1.3 in Mach Es on Michigan-10 in downtown Detroit.

• The ping-ponging seemed to be gone.
• BC 1.3 remained engaged through almost every curve.
• It remained engaged when driving past on- and off-ramps.
• The lane changing was effortless and smooth: you flick the turn signal indicator left or right and the car tells you it is preparing to change lanes. When clear, it changes lanes smoothly while showing you it is doing so on the IPC.
• When passing or being passed by trucks, the car shifts away gently and shows it is doing so on the IPC. It then slides back when the truck is gone.

Ford had wanted to deliver BC 1.3 via Power Ups by now. I can't provide details but I'll just say the phased rollout and testing is working the way it should to make sure that once it reaches general release, BC 1.3 will arrive via safe and reliable PowerUps.

EA Program participants should make sure their Mach Es are scheduled for updates. I'm betting @Mirak is right: delivery should be much faster than the original BC 1.0 PowerUps that were more than six months late in arriving.

Which is a great example of how even the vaunted Apple that has been pushing software updates for years still sends them out in waves. I have an iPhone 13 and I was able to download iOS 17 today, but only because I manually checked for updates. Apple was still waiting to notify me or push it to my phone. Yes, I have automatic updates turned on.
