While not a fan of hands-free driving, I do find it useful on road trips. I very rarely take my hands off the wheel, but having bluecruise on makes road trips easier, and I believe adds a level of safety. I do keep my hands on the wheel, but I do feel that using bluecruise makes driving less tiring. I definitely like it better than I thought I would!

I don't live anywhere NEAR a BC-mapped road, so I don't subscribe, but when I traveled down to Vancouver in September I decided to try BlueCruise. While I get the initial anxiety of letting the car take over, and some roads just didn't work well due to too-tight corners (*cough* Coquihalla), I quickly got used to BC and liked it a lot. I think its highest and best purpose is managing stop-and-go traffic jams, where it's an easy set-it-and-forget-it. If I were able to use it at least a few times a week I'd gladly pay the subscription fee.

Yeah, I get you. I just can't focus on anything but the "unless" part..... And besides, I enjoy "driving" 🤠 I know there will come a day where I can no longer, so I'm not gonna skip a single mile. 😊
IMO there is nothing "enjoyable" about interstate driving or stop and go traffic around Gary. I LOVE BC for those two reasons. If I want to enjoy driving I'll hit up the twisties on Spring Creek Road winding down the river valley then head back up Ten Mile Creek Road all while in Unbridle mode.

No worries, I won't unplug your BC. 😉 Maybe that's why I don't live near Gary....lol.... 🤠

I would love to see this recap. I have over 36k miles on my 2023. I'd estimate 24k of that was in 2024. Of that 24k I'd guess 15k miles would be under BlueCruise hands-free.

Looking back through my emails, I was wrong when I said this was because of the early access program... This was actually from Ford's marketing team. I got on their email list by attending a couple events they hosted in Phoenix this summer. Cars and Coffee followed by Electrify Expo.
Can you share the email that sent this info? I'd like to see mine.

We’ve owned our ‘21 Premium ER since new. Just turned 40k. We’ve only had BC since May due to repeated dealer/Ford screw-ups. BC is nice for Interstate travel, although it often drops out for no apparent reason. I don’t see myself renewing it, especially given the price tag and the fact that my ‘21 seems condemned to BC 1.0.

I'm checking to see if they're okay with me sharing their work emails. This went through a couple of individual employees, not a department inbox type of thing.

I use BC all the time on road trips. I love it. Don’t want another car without it or something similar. One thing I love about it is that it’s very easy to override. You want to turn - turn the wheel and it doesn’t fight back. You want to speed up - stomp on the pedal. You want to stop - stomp on the other pedal. Then, except for the brake, it will just resume when you’re done. None of that requires any button pushing and there’s no drama.

On a long road trip, and assuming traffic isn't heavy (as my '21 only had 1.0 until last week when I finally got 1.3) it is amazing how much less fatigued I am using BC on a drive. I bought the 3 year extension when it was $600 but definitely wouldn't subscribe again at the current price (maybe monthly if I knew I had a bunch of drives). But I love BC on a road trip.

It is interesting once you learn the ADAS "Style" and can anticipate when it will dissengage or how aggressively it will change lanes, etc. Much prefer BC on a road trip than Tesla based on their free trials they have given recently, as I don't subscribe to their solution.

When I first tried out BC someone ask how was it? I told them it's like riding with your teenager. Do you see that truck moving over? Do you see them breaking? Do you see that are starting to slow down. Watch out for him. Expect it's not your teenager you are asking it's BC.
or an adult with a six pack in their system

@Ford Motor Company (via EAP) offered to provide me with my hands free driving stats for 2024. They provided stats that I'm free to share so here goes:

8,887 miles from 1/1/2024 through 12/13/2024 means that about 80% of my total miles driven are hands-free (on the highway). I had no idea!! Hands-free driving is only available on the highway, so this also means I'm doing a lot more highway driving than I'd realized. I figured hands-free highway would be less than 40% of my total miles driven, as I felt as though I was often mixing up my normal routes by using surface streets.

How much of your driving is hands-free?

Here's a screenshot from the short video Ford sent me. I suppose "Titanium" should have said "Premium" but I'd like to cut them some slack. One fix at a time. ;)

Pretty sure close to 45k miles, probably more, of totally hands-free enjoyable driving, works great and I only have the 1.0 so far.

If you have the Navigation set to a destination BC won't actually take exits, etc., right? Mine didn't and I guess I thought it would. I'm hardly ever on the highway so in a month and a half of ownership I've only used it once. Also curious if other manufacturer's hands-free driving does that.
