Yeah I need to do that at some point - done that for other formats in the past (although I usually use Handbrake). Part of what has stopped me is losing the interactive features etc. but a lot of those are dead now anyway as sites go offline, etc.If you ever want to, you can convert the HD-DVD to other formats, there is software available to do that. I have used makeMKV to do this in the past - I no longer have my Toshiba HD-DVD player but I converted all the disks and saved them on my hard drive.
I still remember converting all my daughter's Disney DVD's to files with Handbrake so I could load them on her iPod touch and she could watch movies when we were on a trip. I also still have the portable DVD player from before that. Way before the days of digital downloads and Netflix. I still have that portable hard drive with all those movies somewhere because I had to load only a couple at a time on the device because of lack of space.Yeah I need to do that at some point - done that for other formats in the past (although I usually use Handbrake). For me it was AVISynth (I developed the logo; gears to crank out video) and vdub (virtualdub). Now download and/or stream. Times change and now we have a fast battery on wheels.I still remember converting all my daughter's Disney DVD's to files with Handbrake so I could load them on her iPod touch and she could watch movies when we were on a trip. It was not a price increase. I was a price reduction of $1,000Possible. But if so, I'd say it would have made a lot more sense to announce that WITH the price increase. Not announce the price increase first and then announce what you're paying more for later.
Because your logic is bad. The situation is that you agreed to pay a certain amount for a car and now they are selling it to you for 1,000 dollars less than the price you agreed to. The price of other cars is irrelevant. The NET price of the FE as a whole went down by $1000. That's based on the Premium base (which it is based from, regardless of whether people are willing to recognize it or not) going down $3000 and the FE package price going up $2000.
I don't get why people don't want to acknowledge that.
I think this is just a case of someone who "cannot see the forest for the trees".It appears that it is, based on some of the replies.
What we do with the information is gonna vary from person to person, of course. Some are gonna care about it, some aren't. For some it changes the relative value of the FE upgrade vs the Premium, for others it won't. But none of that changes the fact that the Premium base went down $3000 in price while the FE package upgrade increased $2000 in price. I'm puzzled at how that's controversial to say.
Maybe we just have to spell out "Package upgrade" every time to make it clear what we're referring to.
The value is better than it was because of the price break. You want to change because you think there is a care that offers better value.I upgraded to the First Edition but now it's just not the value for me and I will go to the back of line politely.

I know I was nauseatedThe Premium base went down $3000.
The 301A FE package increased $2000.
Those are the actual facts. We went over this ad nauseum last week.
