So I was just about to resign myself to the Ford charger. But I looked up the Federal and Eversource incentives and, depending on installation costs, it looks like it might be cheaper to get a JuiceBox charger installed in 2020. Does that seem right? Need to get an estimate for installation - just spit balling here:

FordJuiceBox 40 (L2)
Purchase$ -$ 629.00
Installation$ 750.00$ 750.00
Total$ 750.00$ 1,379.00
Federal Credit (expires 12/31/20)$ (413.70)30% to purchase and install
Eversource Program$ (300.00)Only w/ Juicebox
Net Cost$ 750.00$ 665.30

Didn’t know Eversource was offering rebates. Thanks.

I am assuming you mean the included Ford mobile charger ($0) and not the accessory wall station (~$620-$1250, depending on dealer).

No matter which option you choose, you can take a 30% credit on the costs for "alternative fuel vehicle refueling property" if you do that in 2020. I believe this would include the $750 installation fee that you're showing for installing a NEMA 14-50R receptacle (or alternatively, the hardwire install prep if you are going with a higher amperage EVSE).

Same here. I had checked earlier and didn't find anything. I have a juicebox being installed next week, so will have to research. If anyone has a link to the eversource details, please share. Will do the same if I find it.

I would think so too (circuit & outlet install), even if just using the Ford Mobile Charger that comes with the MME. That's still "buying an EVSE" (it just happens to be part of the car purchase).

Of course, anything to do with taxes is only as sure as the auditor or IRS rep that might review/reject your tax return. YMMV.

Yeah, my delivery won't be until next year. The federal tax credit is slated to end 12/31/20. When I'm at the dealer tomorrow I'll ask if there's anyway to get the Ford charger this year. Never know if you don't ask!

I'm in the same boat (won't get the car until probably Feb), but I got the circuit/outlet installed this year to take the tax break.

I doubt the fact that the car (and charger, if just using the included Ford mobile charger) won't show up until next year matters for the 2020 tax credit. It's still an outlet being installed for EV use. Whatever expenses you actually incur in 2020 (circuit/outlet and/or charger) should count toward the credit.

(The usual tax advice caveats apply about not knowing 100% for sure. But I'm proceeding under that assumption.)

Following. I'm an Eversource customer in Mass.

My understanding is if you get one of the two Eversource approved charges and activate them with Eversource, you get $300 (you're agreeing to let them throttle you during peak loads and you're committing to staying in that program for 3 years).

And you get the federal tax rebate of 30% off the charger and wiring/installation.

So on the $700 Chargepoint, that would be getting $510 back.

Not a bad deal. I should get moving.

I ordered the Ford Connected Charger Station on Oct. 9 for December delivery (Fedex) from FordParts.com. Cost $719.10 plus tax (free shipping). Will provide fastest Level 2 charging with its 48 amp charging on a 60 amp breaker circuit...estimated at 39 mph.

I have a Charge Point Home Flex and signed up for the Eversource program and according to Charge Point I am accepted / Enrolled but never heard anything from Eversource about it. As mentioned it is supposed to be $150 up front (First year) then $50 / Year for 3 Years to total the $300. I believe these are checks and not discounts applied to your account.

Personally I went with the Home Flex specifically for the best rated cold weather cord being here in Mass and my Charger / Charging will always be outdoors.

I got a Free Ford Home Charger with my Select if anyone is interested. I already had the Home Flex installed otherwise I would have installed it.
