I wouldn’t have believed FordPass could get worse. But it has.

I turned on SecuriAlert while my car was at the dealer for a couple days. Just to know when they were actively working on it. Well, now it won’t turn off. It shows off in the app. But every time I open a door, my phone and watch now let me know that a door has been opened and do I wish to report it?

I tried live chatting with a FordPass specialist who recommended I remove the vehicle and re-add it. I did. SecuriAlert still shows as toggled off but still let’s me know I opened my door. As a bonus I now get to setup phone as a key and CarPlay all over again.
So much fun.

Isn't SecuriAlert the only notifications Ford Pass really sends? Other than the walk away lock thing? Might as well just turn off notifications until it is sorted out. I personally just leave my SecuriAlert on. I've gotten used to it and it has come in handy for random moments, especially car washes!

There’s also to “accidental unplug” notifications to let you know if someone unplugs your car.
There’s the “your scheduled charge did not begin” to let you know your EVSE needs reset.

Ah, yes, true! Man, really hope they fix these super weird bugs that should be easily fixable! I mean, on or off. That really can't be that difficult to program properly...

This thread is nearly a year old, but I am *still* getting notifications … everysingletime … a door is opened. Securialert turns itself back on and I’ve tried to defeat it (yes, I’ve spent too much ‘quality time’ talking to @Ford Motor Company customer service to no avail).

For example, I unlock the car with the fob. Open driver’s door and get a notification. Wife opens passenger door. Notification. Frunk/hatch opens…notification. That’s even when I *first* turn off Securialert in FordPass and unlock the car with my fob.

Is the software ‘too dumb’ to know that it is ME getting in to the vehicle so I don’t need to be notified? Sheesh.

Nearing my first maintenance and have requested my dealer look in to how to turn it off!
