When I start my Mach E, most times, the AC turns on if the climate control is on. I live in the desert so it may sense that it is hotter than it really is for someone who lives here. I've searched the manual and online and can't find a way to prevent it from turning on. Any ideas? Thanks

If you’re on Auto mode, change the fan speed or where the air comes out of to disable auto.
Maybe the AC will stay off after that?

I can’t say for sure since I’m one of those set it and forget it guys. Mine is set to 68 year around for the past 4 years.

We avoid using heat or A/C 90% of the time. Instead we just run the fan only, usually on speed 1, but sometimes on 2. Ali is correct, if auto is on, it will turn off if you manually override the fan speed.
We will sometimes use A/C or heat if the ambient temp is over 90F or under 40F, or if we are just driving around town and not worried about maximum range, but we always avoid auto.
Our’s is a 2021 job 1. It may work differently in later years.

auto can be turned off, but awkwardly so. I've only done it while driving and don't remember which buttons I have to press to turn it off.

We live in the tropics and prefer our temp higher than most. We set it at 76 and leave it there. But we also live at altitude, so that might throw on the heater in the morning. I imagine can be same for you in cool desert early mornings? At that point, we'll set it lower so the heat doesn't kick in.

Alternativevis lower blower speed. This can be done manually or through speaking with a short touch of thecsieaj button (long touch engages Siri or Alexa in CarPlay.)

Not sure what you’re asking.

You can turn the system completely off by pressing the climate settings button to the right side of the knob to bring up the full climate control menu, then press the power button to turn the system off.

You can turn off the AC by pressing the AC button. There is no way to prevent it from automatically turning on again if needed.

Note that even if the AC button is “off” or even if you completely turn off the climate control, the car can and will still use the AC and heater as needed to provide cooling or heating to other system functions. So most of the time you’re not saving much if any energy by turning off the climate control. Even more so if you turn the system off but drive around with the windows open. You’ll likely lose more energy from worse aerodynamics with the windows open than you gain by not using the climate control.

He asked how to turn off “auto”. I think he’s wanting to do what we do: operate his vents and blower without the car automatically adding either heat or cool - essentially using forced air vents while keeping the windows rolled up. In temperate climates it’s nice to have fresh filtered outside air without the climate control modifying the ambient temperature.
