I live in Surprise, Arizona and have to travel to Tempe for work which is 50-miles 1 way. It would be awesome if I could just sleep in my (future) Mach E. Would rather do that then move to Tempe. Has anyone camped in their Mustang Mach E? I've searched this forum and Google but have only found vague references or posts were about in the winter time (no heat pump). Thank you :D
50 miles one way, you say that like that is a far distance. I imagine that's only like an hour or less seat time. Why not just drive the 100 miles every day? My commute is about 140 miles round trip every day, with about half of that in urban traffic. The Mach-E handles this no problem.

Just a note, while the vehicle A/C is certainly meant to be used I imagine the duty cycle of running it "all night" constantly might catch up sooner or later and parts could break. Likely nothing you have to worry about soon and might even not occur until after warranty is up. But they didn't likely design it for an extended constant use.
Running the A/C "all night" would roughly be equivalent to taking a 10 hour road trip. Not really outside design specs.

Correct, but doing that EVERYDAY is an entirely different thing...

Yeah, that's why my commute is 140 instead of 110. The shorter route closer to DC takes longer even with HOV lane usage (which is allowed for EVs in Marlyand even with one person in the car).

EVs get to use the HOV lanes in AZ also. During rush hour it doesn't make much difference. I used to do a 60 mile RT commute in PHX. If I left my house by 5:30 am I could usually do the speed limit the whole way in and get there in about 30 minutes. Getting home was an hour on a good day.

I think that depends. For about a year I had to work Downtown. That was 15 miles mostly down 51 and a a bit on I-10. In the morning mornings my commute took 20-30 min in HOV lane, but over an hour in the regular lanes.

EV and Chill's Shannon just "camped" in her Mach-E overnight (in her garage because she was concerned about the battery life). She has a standard range model, and setting the AC to 72 (but I don't remember her mentioning the ambient temp in her garage), she lost 7% of range overnight (spoiler).

key points are:
- she is 5'4"... which explains 'plenty of room'
- garage was 'about 80-85 deg'
- she set a/c to 72 (bbbrrrr!), fan on 2 all night, windows up I assume
- used 7% in 8 hours.... but I didn't see if she has SR or EX battery. if SR, that would be 'about' 4.75 kWhr overnight... which is quite a bit, but to be expected heating/cooling a car with relatively little insulation and lots of glass. Something to keep in mind depending on your state of charge and distance to next charge. probably could have gotten a better look at that by starting a 'trip' and checking the consumption.

I camped in my MME 'in the wild' last weekend, and I would add my comments:

- I am 6' tall.... and had to move seat backs straight up to make room to stretch out. I also filled the gap between front seat backs and folded down rear seat with my dufflebag of clothes and overlaid the cargo floor with 1/2" thick foam tiles (not memory foam). Also ended up sleeping with my head at the tailgate so I could stargaze a bit since I do not has a glass roof and then put my cargo screen back in place to make it dark over my head as there was a full moon blasting in! It required some flexibility to sit up, turn around, and get dressed as I sure could not sit up straight in the back.

- I would be more concerned with finding/building some 'rain-protector/bugscreen' vents that I could close in the windows to provide ventalation.... and skip the AC/heat under most conditions. There was a light sprinkle of rain in the middle of the night, and I had to roll up all the windows all the way, which got a little stuffy.... at which point I did turn on the A/C, although I would have rathered just cracked the windows.

- There are a variety of clicks and clunks of relays for the first 10 minutes as the car 'goes to sleep', but then quiet. I did not run A/C overnight, but I did turn off all alarms and beeps to minimize noise when I got up for the inevitable midnight trip to the bathroom. ;)

- I brought along an inverter, and tested out the use of my 1500watt electric teapot to heat water in the morning. What I found was that when the MME was 'on', the LVB voltage was enough to run the teapot... when it was 'off' the LVB voltage sag at 1500watts was too much and kicked off the inverter when it sagged to 11v under load. So, MME has to be 'on' if you are pulling more than 1000watts to accessories.
