Can't deal with the bouncy ride anymore after two weeks with the Mach-E. What do I do?

Oh, it most definitely is good. If you are into pastry stouts, Pipework Brewing in Chicago does some amazing ones (even if they do make me think about the very uncomfortable ride over to the bottle shop in my Mach-E). Next up is Fluffo Sando

Nice. I'll be back in Chicagoland in August. Need to track down some of these. ??

I really wanted to get the MME, went for a test drive and didn't like the bouncy feeling. I would much rather get a stiffen suspension vs one that gives a slight bobble on smooth but uneven road. As others mentioned the Magneride suspension or aftermarket suspension hopefully would be better.

I am not an expert on suspension so please forgive my obvious ignorance.
Having followed the thread since the onset, I 've become even more confused.
"soft" to me means huge pink Cadillac from decades ago, floating like a boat, which I don't like.
"bouncy" sounds like the Jeep pickup which was driving in front of me today, looking like there was some trampoline under it every time there was a bump in the road, and behaved like a pogo-stick when it came to a hard stop at the stop.
Does not look good either and won't like this much either.
I was driving my wife's Hyundai suv, which definitely seemed much calmer over the same road.
"stiff" is also bad it seems, although it seems like the least concerning option to me?
I believe my Audi S5 was considered "stiff", but felt fine to me, whereas my Mercedes C350 felt pretty great.
What should this SUV feel like?
I would hate being in a position where I hate the ride quality of an expensive car, having to figure out how much money to spend on after market equipment just to make it comfortable.
Sure it seems it does not bother some, likely due to previous experience, but I feel really sorry for those guys who feel this way about their new cars.
Hope you can resolve this.

Test drive one for yourself and decide. Iā€™m happy with mine but, as you can tell, this is an extremely personal preference.

The only answer is to drive it yourself. Ride quality and NVH are very subjective.

So any consensus yet on if a particular build/configuration would give a more smooth ride? SR vs ER? AWD vs RWD? Wheel size?

I get motion sickness and stiff neck VERY easily, am really trying to have somewhat a smooth ride here (currently driving a C300 coupe).

How about the GT with Magneride suspension?

My ride has settled down nicely after I reduced cold air pressure in the tires down to 38 psi. they came from the dealer set to 44 psi - ok for the OEM tire, but not needed given the overall weight of the car.

GT version is a bit outside my budget.

I can almost guarantee the bounciness would be greatly reduced with wider/larger wheels with 45 series tires.

I had a couple of foresters with Coilovers and immediately after installing them the vehicle was bouncing all over the place but 100% resolved with new wheels and tires. With smaller 225 55 series tires and a suspension that's rather stiff due to the weight of the vehicle, those sidewalls are going to induce additional bounce with bumps. The stiffer, smaller sidewalls of a different tire are going to let the suspension do the dampening instead of the tires.

I'm guessing someone who's gone to an aftermarket setup will be able to confirm or correct me if I'm wrong. *I also haven't read through the whole thread so apologies if this has already been done.

Interestingly enough, I just spoke to a dealer and he told me if I wanted the ā€œsmoothest rideā€ and avoid bounce, go with a ā€œstandard range batteryā€ along with AWD and smaller tires. He told me it was larger wheels along with larger battery that adds to the bounce, but this configuration takes care of that.

I would not say changing the wheels and tires to larger/different sizes greatly reduces the bouncy ride. My set up in front is 20"x8.5" wheel, 255/45/20 tires and rear is 20"x10" wheel, 295/40/20 tires. My friend Terrance has 20"x9.5" square and 275/40/20 tires. It has reduced it some on both cars but that bouncy rear end is still there. I am not a suspension guy but I think the rear shocks need to be damped differently.

Ugh, thatā€™s disappointing. I really wanted to go for this vs the Model 3, but that one just has such a smooth ride, I donā€™t want to sacrifice the ride quality even if the Mach E is the better overall carā€¦.

Reducing the tire pressure did not help much on my ER AWD First Edition. I really think that it is just an issue with the suspension and maybe the wheel base length to some extent when driving over concrete road with expansion seams (which I spent hours on today feeling every bounce). I was hopeful that the investigation on my car might lead to something fruitful to address the awful bounce, but it didn't. That being said, I have heard from some that the ride of the Model 3 is actually worse than what we Mach-e owners deal with.

The car rides like a dream on smooth roads. Honestly, I am in love with this car when it is on smooth roads. When it is hitting the potholes all over Chicago or when riding on concrete roads with seams, it is the worst. I woukd still recommend it to anyone, but with the caveat that they thoroughly test drive on all sorts of road types before committing to purchase, as there are plenty of people who do not notice these same sorts of bounces and bumps that I and some others do.

I completely understand. Ride quality is high up on your priority list and you definitely need to buy the car that is best for you. Everyone has priorities when buying a car. I am not thrilled by the way it rides compared to other cars I have/had but everything else it does outweighs this for me.
