At work we have to have lunch in our cars since there is no safe place to take off masks. Not a problem but if I am sitting in the car without it turned on after about 5-10 minutes the doors lock and if I do nothing after another 5 minutes the theft alarm starts going off. I have to turn the car on to get it to stop. Any idea why this is happening and how to prevent it without having to turn the car on every time and run the battery down? Thanks

Sitting with the car "running" for 30-60 minutes will use very little charge.

Sounds like it's auto locking and then detecting motion inside the car when locked. It sets off the alarm to warn in case there is a child or pet locked inside. Check the settings for locking and interior motion detection. But like the other reply said...I'd just "start" the car.

it is the motion alarm; mine is set to prompt me when I turn it off if it should enable the motion alarm

I assume you have the fob or phone.... Doesn't the car detect when the fob or phone is present inside?

I have the phone with me and the car knows its there because if this happens I just turn the car on to stop it. Thats the weird thing. Why is it locking me inside when it knows Im there. This has been happening since I got the car in April

The PAAK was working pretty well for a while but now its doing other strange things too. Today as I walk towards the car it detects my presence, the lights come on and the little white circle lights up on the door but it won't let me in unlock and open the door. It happened five or six times today. I had to use the code to unlock the car but once inside the PAAK worked to start the car up.

That explains half the problem. I'll definitely change that setting. I still dont understand why its locking the car with me inside and with the phone in the exact spot that it always is when I drive the car.

Here’s the fun part: the setting to toggle off interior motion sensors doesn’t stay off. It reverts back to on every time you restart your car. I’ve been waiting on a fix for this fun little bug for over 6mos now. Ford simply refuses to release a bug fix. And I’m getting increasingly pissed about it.

Turn off profiles. Set the motion sensor. Audio tones, and everything else tge way you like. Power down the car, exit and wait awhile. Start the car back up, turn profiles back on. Now when it resets the various things to default, the default will be what you want.

Yes, it’s a workaround.

Next: the alarm sets and triggers while stopped at a light.
