Full disclosure, I'm an Apple super-fan. I was reading an article in Newsweek about "things you didn't know CarPlay could do," and I came across this gem:
Turn the car heater on
Drivers can also "change radio, climate control, and seat settings using Siri and the CarPlay system of their vehicles," Apple says. Siri can also activate and save a driver's settings as well as change the car's defroster settings.
Honk the horn
Siri can honk the horn of your car and activate hazard lights as well as lock or unlock your car. It can also check other car-related information, such as the current fuel or power level.
My current car, while I wait for my MME, is a 2019 Acura RDX which has CarPlay, but when I try to do these things, Siri responds in an interesting way. Siri basically says "I can't do that in YOUR car" (emphasis mine, exact quote something different). Could someone try using Siri voice commands to see if you can change the climate controls in your car? (I know the Ford voice assistant can do this, so this is more of a curiosity than anything.)
Thanks!
