Central NY windshield recall

Has anyone in the Syracuse/Finger Lakes area have the pano roof/windshield recall done? If so where did you take it and are you satisfied with the results?

I have to take mine in for brake rotor issues and should consider getting this done as well.

I used Romano Ford in Syracuse (SE, Fayetteville). Ask for Chris. Highly recommended.

They use a specialty auto glass shop for the window resealing, and the wind TSB seal if you need it (wind noise above 45 mph). They told me (before I said anything!) that they would also be updating the software.

The appointment was about a month out, but I was glad they were getting experience with other MMEs first. Takes about a week, had a loaner car, no problem.

The work looks like very good quality, I see no signs of marks or scratches. Only one drive so far; it seemed quieter than ever. There is a bit of a new car smell from the adhesives and sealants.

My dealer, Koerner Ford, said they weren't ready to perform this yet.

Currently, I am more interested in them fixing the 1.7.1 OTA issue I have and installing all the updates for Blue Cruise. Dropped it off this morning.

Thank you, I've been away for a while, but I have been following your projects too.

@stmache consider Romano for the glass recall. Their glass shop has done quite a few of them now. I was dreading this project for fear of damage, but they did a beautiful job. I was really impressed. You have to be willing to let them go a day or two longer if needed, but the excellent results were well worth it. Heck, they even returned Louiebluey fully charged! (it's an hour home, so I didn't worry about 100%).
