Why do you like 32A over 48A?

However, for me it is all a moot point anyway because I really don't like charging at 48A and prefer a 32A rate.

Over here on our list of instructional materials, we have a link to Ford's two-page document with details that can help answer electrician's questions. I'd recommend printing it out to give you and your electrician confidence with regards to what type of installation is needed.
Thank you for the links. I've printed out the Ford document so it will be handy. The lowest cost location for the outlet, in my case, will be the wall at the front of the car. The charger stations appear to have varying lengths of cable but the ones I've looked at would have no problem reaching the charging port with plenty of slack.

Now... to find an electrician. ?

Charging at 48A creates a lot more heat which causes the cooling system to run at much higher and noisier speeds. The car seems much happier when charging at 32A compared to 48A.

That should be fixed with TSB 21-2278. I will know when I get my vehicle back (dropped it off 2 hours ago). I will test it at 48amps to verify the fix, and see if there is any more noise than at 32amps. I plan to normally charge at 32amps because I don't need to charge faster most of the time, but if I return from a long trip with a low charge and need to go out in a few hours, 48amps will be useful.

Isn't there a JuiceBox 48 out there? Or is it just vaporware?
There is a JB 48, and a 40 and a 32. I have the 48. They are not in stock on the Enel-X site. I got one from a distributor that was also an electrician and did my wiring, and they matched the JB discounted price at the time of $639.

There was a problem with the unit (cord length was 7.5 feet too short), and Enel-X replaced it a few weeks later with a JB48 with the proper cord. As I recall, they were getting a small amount in to HQ, 20 or 12 or something. Supply on all these units is very tight.

I went with the CPHF that SRP offers with the 6-50 plug. I bought an adapter from Amazon to go from 6-50 to 14-50 in case something ever goes wrong with the CPHF and I need to use the Ford mobile charger. I also had the electrician run 6-3 cable and tape back the neutral so I can easily switch to a 14-50 outlet in the future if I need/want to.
Another option is to order the 6-50 version and look around for the 14-50 pigtail. You may be able to find someone here on the forum that hardwired theirs. You could always check e-Bay, too.
I did the exact same thing.
Cphf with 6-50 plug from srp and got a 14-50 adapter from amazon.

I wall mounted the charger a couple days ago, plugged it in and finished setting it up on the app.

I wonder how they "fixed" it? Fast charging generates heat. No way around the physics.
I suspect they just raised the upper temp limit while charging at that speed. You should be able to check when you get your vehicle back.

You're making the assumption that the vehicle was supposed to kick into that mode with a 48amp charger, not that it was set improperly.

If you read the TSB, it says that some vehicles built before 11/8/21 had the strong fan noise... 10.5kW or above.

I get the same fan noise when charging at 48 amps as I get when charging at 32 amps. If I let the battery cool for a couple of hours before charging then the fan does not even come on. The car is in an underground garage which is cool in the summer and warm (50 degrees) in the winter

Have you had the updates specified in the fan noise TSB applied? My car is much quieter since the updates. Thus far my garage has always been hot. Finally starting to enter the cool down here in PHX. ?

I read the TSB and I looked at the temps and pump commands and the compressor demand. If the cooling was excessive then temps would have reduced dramatically.
They didn't.
The date format of the TSB is European as well as some of the language so it might be possible the TSB was mostly for overseas concerns.

My statement remains. Charging at 32A is less stressful on the battery and associated components than charging at 48A. It is 50% more work in the same amount of time. That has to come with some consequences.

I dont know which updates have been applied to my car. Is there any way I can check? I could call the dealer but not sure they know either.
