So I have a select rwd ordered.
The dealer had a demo select and that they now want to sell to me for $54000.
On one hand I would get the car now and qualify for the $7500, but I would essentially only be getting $2000 of the savings then since it stickered at 49000.
I also would not get my x plan, and the car has miles on it.

I would love to have it now, but I think it is prudent to wait.

Thoughts?

Buy it and trade it when the ordered unit comes in?

I would wait, especially if you still have a functioning car already. If you find one at MSRP, then consider jumping the queue, but ADM is just burning money and $5k is a lot to burn. Who knows how the car has been treated over those 4k miles too.

That's a lot. However, do you know you won't have an admin put on your order?

No need to rush unless you have nothing to drive and as others stated, $5k is a lot of $$ for some of us. That's the top of the line dash cam with install for me + another $3.5k or more in other fun toys.

Seems pointless for me, but I'm not you. I also wouldn't want to try to sell it later in case the market turns since your buyer will definitely not get any tax credit.

I see 13 Premiums now within 500 miles of me on the Ford.com tracker, but surprisingly, 0 within 60+ miles.

Select's are the most common model that wasn't special ordered (I think Premiums look like they are only special ordered actually) so I think anyone wanting a Select should look all over to get one at 0 or low ADM.

That and it was a demo meaning it's "used" (to me at least and possibly more abused).

Check with your tax advisor - I do not believe yo;u will get the $7500 tax credit when you buy a delaer demo, as it is not "new".
As long as it's not titled, you qualify for the credit. Some states require the car to be titled to be a demo, but others don't. I'd check with the dealer to see if it was titled.
