As a welcome surprise this week my previously February, then December, then this past Monday, Mach-E was ready or pick up last night and is safely in my garage (where it barely fits, but that's another story). I did remove the film on the touch screen, however it left sticky reside behind and I'm not sure the best way to clean it off. I don't want to use anything abrasive or harsh to ruin the coating and/or scratch it. I had read that maybe diluted soapy water with a microfiber cloth might do the trick but I thought I would check and see if anyone else has this issue and what they did before attempting anything.

Thanks in advance for the tips!

Eyeglass cleaner is water with a drop or two of soap in it. No reason you can't spray soapy water on it, or wet the cloth and wipe and then dry it. Have screen OFF.

You can use various screen cleaners or wipes that are meant for screens (TVs, computers, etc). The one thing is to try not to spray something on the screen as can soak it and have different problems. It is normally recommended to put the liquid on a microfiber cloth and then wipe. I use the Chemical Guys Interior Cleaner and can be put on screens.

Is the screen not made of glass?

I'm a little surprised this wasn't taken care of during dealer prep. Mine was.

Did you just peel off the little rectangle? If so, peel off the huge protective layer across the entire screen.

90+% IPA + MagicFiber cloth. I'd recommend nothing else. I have dedicated MagicFibers for cleaning device screens, TVs and car screens. Each live in their own bag and are used for their single purpose (I don't use MagicFiber dedicated to the TV for anything else, etc.).

No worries. I drove around for a few days before I figured it out.
