So far, we hear only “its normal” from Ford through dealers. We don‘t know if its even a recognized issue and if Ford is working on it.
At the same time, it drives many customers crazy.
Lets write a collective letter and make Ford see us.
If anyone knows how to write such things - help would he appreciated. Also I’m not a native English speaker, so someone could help reviewing the letter too :)
I’m ready to do the organizational part.

I feel as if I should have done more, or should do more now (OP of the main thread on the issue), but I'm just not up to that fight.

I'd happily add my name and information to anything anyone else put together though. Especially if someone has a bigger social media presence, that seems to be the way to get answers these days.

For the most part I've learned to live with it for now, hoping a solution comes at some point, but it can be VERY irritating at times. It's such a relief whenever I drive in the dark since it's no where near as noticeable then (the screen dims even further when it's dark out, and the whine can go almost completely away at extreme dimming levels).

The best thing people can do is take their cars into the dealership service centers to complain about the issue. This is how Ford really registers complaints. If enough people do it, it will get Ford’s attention. Remember, visits to the service center under warranty cost Ford money.

So far we are getting 'its normal' answer from the dealership and a promise they reported it to Ford.

I sent mine in for service for the last week for this issue. They contacted Ford engineering several times, got a software updated for the car's main computer that they said should fix the issue, but it is just exactly the same as before I dropped it off. I think I'm going to live with it until a real fix is found.

Not when the dealer does not make a repair. If it makes it as far as a tech having to write up an 'operating as designed' work order you are actually taking money out of his/her pocket. Addressing your complaints directly to Ford is the way to go.

Has anyone successfully recorded that buzz?

Goes with the saying that a picture (or audio recording) is worth a thousand words.

Sure would go better with a social media, Youtube etc. post, than a complaint only.

I went to the car with my Apple EarPod Pros on in Transparency mode that acts like a hearing aid. I heard he buzzing sound! I put the car in park and it stoped. It was the damn AVAS (acoustic vehicle alerting systems). I know some people here a buzzing from their screen, but so far not me. As I said before I blame my sixty five year old ears and Led Zeppelin for not being able to hear it.

And there it is, one possible explanation.

So now, can we get an audio recording with the vehicle in Park and in Drive?

Its just another sound. Just posting this again, here us the spectral analysis of the sound, its most probably PWM noise.
Spectral analysis makes a pretty picture, but if you can post that, you should be able to post a couple of simple audio files. I can't hear a picture, but maybe it is just me.

If I could actually get at a MME with that problem, I'm sure I could record it.

My Accord had an issue where the Adaptive Cruise would disable with a fault light. Took it to the dealer and "did you restart", "sometimes the sensor gets dirty, bags get on it", etc. Eventually it got worse and it was 2 or 3 times a week it'd fail. It usually did it in the same area but not always. Restarting especially peeved me for obvious reasons although it did make the fault light go away and it would start working again.

About 1-1/2 years into the life of the 2018 model year vehicles they issued a TSB that fixed it. Why that's not a recall I don't know because it was a pretty serious safety fail. Basically, the sensor had some bad code where if there were too many things happening it freaked, which explains it's regular failure on a 2-lane highway in a busy area.

My point is, keep on them, go to the dealers, and be a pain in the ass about it. They can't fix it if they don't know about it and they won't fix it if there's no pain to not fixing it.

It's the type of screen they used. I've been saying this since day 1 but no one has believed me. The only way it'll get fixed is if they offer a replacement in the future with a different type of display. If you observe super carefully and in a certain lighting you can see some flickering, and it goes with the sound too. No software update can fix this, but I still hope it becomes widespread and everyone notices that they offer replacements with a new type of screen.
