So as far as pricing this may be better option than Tesla Model Y for those in Canada

I still feel the Mach-E has better styling and interior than the VW ID4 .

One thing I don't like about the ID4 is the different tire size front and rear. Makes it impossible to rotate the tires.

Good point, did not think of that.

Would need to drive the ID4 AWD for actual comparison. Be silly to order sight unseen, no test drive

VW is well known for their stellar reliability. I know their EV will be at the top of the reliability list. I tried to drive one but the dealer sold the one they got the day before. I had to settle for a crummy Ford....and A Mustang at that. Jeepers.

I live in Montreal and ID4 has 13000$ insentive in each trim in Quebec. So for 57k CAD OTR I can have fully loaded ID4 AWD with 77 kw battery and heatpump vs Mach E Select RWD maybe with comfort package with 68 kw battery for the same price (can get provincial 8k rebate on trims up to Premium rwd small battery)
Test drove fully loaded Mach E recently, and it is just the most beautiful SUV currently on the market. Comfortable, not too sporty ride, quality interior, however some features are missing for 81000 OTR car like heated and reclining rear seats, HUD, most likely slower average DC charging, and coming from Ford Focus Electric, lack of heatpump, reduce range by 40% when it's around -10.
Rationally ID4 should be a better value (haven't seen it yet), but Mustang is, in my opinion, a piece of art that deserves a price premium, and if I could only convince my wife, I would get Premium RWD Mach-E. She, on the other hand doesn't want the second car to be fully EV, and unless she would change her mind, we will be getting top trim Rav 4 Prime this summer also for 57000$ CAD with tax and insentive included. Unfortunately, I don't feel feel very excited about the Rav4 and I know I would just still take my Ford Focus Electric for short trips that are longer then 70Km since I would really hate to burn fuel. For long trips, PHEV will be definitely the most comfortable option.

I have driven the Mach-E which I really liked. I do find it expensive as in Canada the Select RWD is approx. $53,000 with freight and no rebates at all.
So I was considering the ID4 Pro AWD as you still get the $5000 rebate which helps with the finances
