so let's see
  • Standard 168-kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery pack with a targeted range of up to 350 miles
  • Optional 229-kWh large battery pack with a targeted range of up to 500 miles
350 miles / 168kW = 2.08 miles / kW
500 miles / 229kW = 2.18 miles /kW

I think the miles / kW are similar to what Lightning drivers are seeing. I'd expect similar range declines when towing.

how far into 6 figures do you think the top spec will go? $140K?

currently car-less, but hope to get a MME!

30 minutes to go from 20% to 60% assuming 10% losses. Acceptable.
Not great, not terrible. :)

Do we have an on-sale date for the Ram EV? I wonder if these specs are subject to change.

There's also the model that specs haven't been released for which includes the single RPM ICE generator (range extender) as a recharging mechanism. I think that people who tow would probably go that route.

As for price. They said it would be cheaper than the competitors, which has obviously yet to be seen.

It charges at the fastest rate available for any EV on the market. So, anyone saying it will take a long time - well yeah, but the MME will take more than twice as long for the same amount of energy.

End of 2024 for release date (MY 25). I don't think the specs will change given today was the official release of those specs, with the exception of the range extender model which was not disclosed.

Price and date available? I couldn't find that info. I know it is a 2025 model but wondering if it will release late 2024.

Meh, either way, I'll still be paying off my Lightning, I mean my Rivian, I mean (maybe) my Silverado 😜. I'm kidding. I'm a kidder.

The Cybertruck omission was not an accident.

What meaningful EV products has Stellantis delivered to date?

They're been mucking around with their silly one-off "Magneto" Jeep for years....(the one that has a pointless manual transmission). There were zero new vehicle announcements at Easter Jeep Safari.

Besides that, you have some mediocre PHEVs. I think they made a Fiat 500 EV which was a loser and is no longer made. What am I forgetting?

This is why measuring charging speed by kW is a dumb measure. its how much range you add, not how many kWh you add. because: the REV truck has to charge at a rate 50% higher to match the MME range added per minute. It has to charge at a rate twice as high as an Ionic6 to match the range added per minute.
  • MME gets ~3m/kWh
  • REV truck ~2m/kWh
  • Ionic6 ~4m/kWh
better measures include:
  • miles per hour added (peak and average) (i.e. It's charging at a rate of 200mph at the minute, but peaks at 400mph)
  • minutes to add 100 miles (or 100kM etc.)

I agree but disagree. The utility of the vehicles are different. You can't compare a semi truck to a VW bug. The MME can't tow, so a proper comparison if you want to use miles would be to compare to a similar utility vehicle (i.e. Lightning), not a car. Otherwise the correct comparison would be energy.

Winter or Summer miles per hour? :) Driving at grandma speeds, or 5k mi/HVBJB speeds?

I think manufacturers go with kW/h because although it's wrong, it's consistently wrong.

They forgot to mention the 500 miles trim will cost you a kidney and your left testicle.
Tesla M3 SR has a 50kWh battery, this is 4.4 times bigger, I'd imagine a fully loaded RAM EV with 500 miles to be in the $150k range at least.

Ford didn't deliver many start at $40k F150 and the price is already went up by 55% so ....

I meant 20 to 80, not 60. I corrected my post.

But kWh are actually measurable. Range added is a SWAG at best and a fantasy number at worst.
