I was told by my dealer that Ford is no longer offering 250KWh of free charging at EA for 2022 models. Anyone else hear anything about this?

It's not tied to model year, it's tied to Fordpass Rewards. You get less points buying an electric vehicle than buying a gas vehicle, but then they give you the charging to balance out.

  • Earn Points to use toward maintenance, service, accessories and more on select purchases or leases: 42,000 for gas engines, 75,000 for diesel engines** and Mustang Mach-E owners will receive 22,000 Points plus 250 kWh of complimentary charging with Electrify America for use at fast charging stations†

Whoever told you that is not well-informed. If it's the GM, that's bad. If it's a salesperson, you should tell his boss.

It may be that the 2022 doesn't come with the extra 250 totaling 500.

In that case he/she would be partially correct. Maybe someone can confirm the additional 250 on 2022s because I haven't seen any posts on it either way.

Wasn't that only given to some people who had longer than expected delays on getting their cars? It wasn't something everyone with a 2021 got.
No.

Everyone gets 250kWh. Some that got delays during 2021 (of course shorter than many of us), got an additional 250kWh for a total of 500kWh.

Mine was a lot purchase and I got the extra 250, so take that as you wish. No wait for me. My point is that I'm not aware if that program is still in place. If it's done then it's correct that you wouldn't get that 250 on top of the other 250.

Even if this was true, 250kWh is only worth $107.50. Not worth losing sleep over.
If you join Pass+ for $4 a month, it's worth $77.50.

If you're in a state that charges by the minute, assuming a charge rate of 1.75kWh per minute (about average), it's worth $34 and change...

An ICE new car gets 42,000 FordPass points. That's worth $210.
We get 22,000 points, worth $110, plus $34 worth of charging. ;)

So FordPass Rewards are valued at about $1 per 200 points. So they give gas cars $210-375 in points and MME gets $100 in points and $77.5 (at EA Pass+ value) worth of EA credits
Seems us MME owners get the shaft a bit...

Feel like points should be tied to the value of the car. Doesn't make sense that someone can buy a $20k Ecosport and get more than twice the points someone would get for dropping $45-50k on an MME

No, they worth $0.50 per 100 points, half of what you said.

Not a big deal either way. After seven weeks of ownership I have already used 80% of the 500 kWh credit and expect to use up the remainder this coming weekend. I had not expected to utilize DCFC this often but then I took delivery in winter. Should be able to rely on DCFC much less in warmer months, won't know for sure until then though.
