As I've posted elsewhere, I've not converted my reservation into an order, I'm planning to wait closer to end of this year if possible. Just received this "nag" email from Ford which is suggesting that I should confirm by August 31. I assume this is merely a "nag" and not a change from the Dec 31 date that is on the order site. Any other order-holder-outs received this email?

I found the following in Blue Oval Forums:

Per Friday's FDNB (Fleet Distribution News Bulletin), here's the production timetable for the 2021 Mustang Mach-E.
  • 06/22/2020 - 2021MY Order Bank Open Date
  • 08/20/2020 - 2021MY Scheduling Begins
  • 10/26/2020 - 2021MY Job #1 Date

So, what they are saying is that if you want to keep your place in line, you need to convert by 8/31. All orders in by then will be batched up for the first run.

We also know that 12/31 is the final date for non-GT holders to convert before losing reservations (7/31 for FE reservation holders).

So, if you want to wait, wait -- until no later than 12/31. All it costs you is that folks with later reservations will move ahead of you.

We don't know if there are other batch deadlines between 8/31 and 12/31.

Awesome info! With that, the update on the plant, and the email, this seems to all align to these dates!

I hope this isn't a stupid question . . . so at the end of August, we should look to see a delivery time table if we have already confirmed our order?

Delivery no. Scheduled for production, maybe.

Though I would think it would be more likely that early converters / FE orders would see a Scheduled for Production update in Sept/Oct.

I reserved a Select, and did NOT get this email or an email back in June when the order bank opened. They are probably pushing FE and Select owners to commit to an order in order to be in the first batch, but allowing other trim reservers that know about the ordering to jump in early ahead of the premium holders that wait. It makes sense; once production starts they need to keep orders in the pipeline but would prefer to follow the original delivery schedule of FE->premium->select/rt1->gt.

Let's hope they actually do this. Communication with reservation holders has been abysmal. Hopefully communication will continue to get better.

I've been sitting on my order and I also received the same e-mail this morning. My reservation is for a Premium. I still plan on converting to an order but decided to wait a few weeks to see if anything major happens.

The email that I got like this wanted me to confirm by July 31st. I wonder what the difference was between my reservation and this one. Would that indicate that I will get my Mach-E sooner than those that get an email that says August 31st?

You must have a reservation for a First Edition. Ford already announced that the FE reservations must be converted to orders by July 31.

I think I was seeing that when I clicked on view my reservation, now that I have ordered it is no longer there. It was telling me I should place my order before July 31st. I did reserve and order a premium.

Maybe you have an earlier reservation timestamp? Depending on how Ford sets up the details of batched production scheduling, the deadline to place your order (in order to get your car as early as possible, subject to reservation timestamp priority) might be affected by the reservation timestamp.

I reserved on 1/1 so not particularly early. I guess we will find out more sometime in August. I'm sticking to my prediction of a delivery date of 11/11 ??
