I have a MY23 with the latest software which includes the lane change feature. However, hands free Blue Cruise will not work, only the hands on works. Ford's EV Specialist group had me take it to the dealer, but the dealer is unable to fix it. The service rep told me yesterday that they have had quite a few MME's coming in with this problem (not sure if they are all MY23 cars) and there is nothing they can do to fix it. They need Ford to provide a fix.

The hands on version of Blue Cruise works fine. I think the lane change feature is a bit slow to execute, especially in the heavy traffic we have here in the Bay Area. On highways with less traffic and fewer curves it does a better job.
Oh my, my incoming '23 MME has BC 1.2 so I will find out if mine has the same issue...

If only Ford keeps shifting delivery dates from slipping into March, I'd be real happy!

I sense that CR has some anti Tesla bias. How can they only give Tesla 5 for ease of use? it couldn’t be easier. You get on a Highway and double tap down on the right lever. That’s it. Want to increase speed? Just scroll wheel up and scroll down for decrease speed.
having both blue cruise And Tesla autopilot, I find that Ap is both more reliable and easier to use. The one thing BC has is hands free. Have to cheat the Tesla system with a weight. Either way have to pay attention to the road.

Same here, the hugging the right side of the lane is a dealbreaker for me. There are so many people in this area that drift to the left of *their* lane, that it makes BC feel dangerous in the current version.
I have a solution for you, drive in the right. Problem solved.

The Hyundai system is better. Works on city and unmap roads and has lane change

I’m kinda shocked that BC ranked ahead of Tesla. I don’t have much experience with Autopilot but it seems a lot more robust with more sensors.

I’ve posted this at least a half dozen times, but the lane centering function of BC is just the same single camera MobileEye system used by a lot of cars. “BC Hands Free” just adds an eye sensor to enable the hands free function on geofenced divided highways.

Consumer Reports must sure love that eye sensor.

I've been really happy with Bluecruise. Look forward to 1.2 and beyond.

I think some of the journalist/youtuber/munroe hate for BC comes from the messaging. They see the "keep hands on steering wheel" message and think BC is turned off, but the vehicle is still making the turn.

The HDA2 system isn't even hands-free, and Hyundai says it only works on mapped highways. This is obviously somewhat subjective, but I think it's more comparable to the Ford Co-Pilot 360 system and the one that I drove ping-ponged a lot.

I thought Tesla removed all sensors from Autopilot and it now relies exclusively on “Vision” (cameras)?

Even apart from that I’m a little confused why you’d want Autopilot over BC1.2? BC seems like a superset of Autopilot features. We’re talking about basic autopilot, not “enhanced” and not FSD, right?

BC ranked above tesla due to CR giving more points to stuff like keeping driver aware or driver monitoring. CR did not rank BC above Tesla on how the system actually function (the most important part.) Also I sense that CR is bias against Tesla. There's no way that Tesla should only get a 5/10 on ease of use. It's literally "tap down twice" on the right lever to activate. Couldn't be easier. CR must think that turn signals are difficult to use also because it works the same way.

I actually really love hands free Blue Cruise. It helps that I live in the Midwest with nice flat straight highways. I’m a little sad I rarely use it since my SR MME is our in-town car mainly. It made me really miss it when driving our (brand new) Audi on a 600 mile trip that still only has lane keep assist.

It comes down to how well the system works in the real world. BC needs the highway mapped, Tesla doesn't and therefore works in more places. I have both systems, and Tesla's systems just works better. The car is more centered, and maintain speeds in curves, does not disengage as often. BC is good, but Tesla works better. I don't have lane change, so I can't comment on that. But I would never use lane change anyways. Easier for me to check my mirrors are change lane myself. BC does have hands free, whereas tesla does not (for now, Elon has mention that they will start using the interior camera soon for handsfree AP). But hands free can easily be "bypass" on tesla. Either way, you still need to pay attention with any of these systems.

My my use (only on divided Freeways) both systems work well, and I'm happy with both.
