Continuous location updates no longer supported in FordPass App

I had noticed that FordPass App stopped providing the location of MachE after about 1 min of moving and then only updates again after parked. It used to provide continuous location during course of transit which was helpful to us (whoever was at home on the App could help driver find restaurants or get around traffic). Anyway, I called FordPass representative today and the Ford Pass representative told me that continuous location updates no longer supported. Only does so when parked. They have removed this as a feature. This, i was told, was done as an improvement. Remember when we could see trip level information such as miles traveled and efficiency miles/kw? another great improvement by removing this.

Can you all confirm that continuous location is a thing that is no longer?

Yeah they removed it, I think due to tracking privacy concerns.

Good point….My first thought was that it was done to reduce communication with the car to lessen 12V battery drain.

Great. They get our data, but we can't get an updated location on our car.
