we're seeing a one day shutdown equals a one day slip in the launch
That sounds right. The overseas supply chain from China and Korea are slowly coming back online so when NA factories open any gaps in the logistics can be filled. The shutdowns were abrupt so not like they kept making stuff and cleaned out the inventory and then shut down.

Darren Palmer of Ford noted that software was the biggest challenge and the software engineers can work from home so it may work to Mach-E advantage, they will get more time to get the software right.

Alot of regulations on Govt. free money to us. Nothing is ever free. Here is one note of many.

Is This Income, A Tax Credit, Or What?

This stimulus check is a refundable tax credit for 2020, being paid to you early. You will have to claim in on your 2020 taxes, but there is nothing to pay back... unless:

  • Your earnings in 2020 exceed the AGI limits
  • You received an incorrect amount based on household or filing (such as you're now divorced and should have received just a single check, etc.)

This stimulus check
Keep in mind the $1,200(+/-) check will not be out to people for 4-8 weeks so it is not much use.

The Unemployment Insurance is what people can get and most unemployed are signing up now to their state's regular UI and then very shortly the Federal $600 per week will be added to it.

So if you filed today, assuming the three week waiting period is not waived, you should see checks starting April 16.

I don’t think anyone is saying, “it’s no big deal”. I think what some of us are saying is we need perspective when looking at statistics. When statistics are looked at in a vacuum, the meaning can be, and usually is, lost. In a typical flu season we have approximately 18,000-30,000 Americans dying each year. That would mean on some days, during these flu seasons, we’d have more than 216 deaths. Again, this doesn’t minimize what’s happening here, it just adds perspective.

One of the ‘genius’ reporters asked yesterday, in the never-ending attempt at what are nothing more than ‘gotcha’ questions, “How many deaths are acceptable?” The President correctly responded, “none”. The same question could be rephrased, “How many deaths from accidents involving cars, planes, drugs, jay walking, suicides and a myriad of other fatality-inducing activities are acceptable?” The answer again is obviously none, but we don’t bring our society to a halt because of these ‘risky’ activities. As any corporate Risk Manager knows, many factors must be weighed before making significant decisions.

On the bright side, here in NY, the hotspot of our nation, we may be seeing a tapering off of new cases. Most importantly, the objective among us are looking with hope to 3 drugs that show promise. One of those is already being used by a number of doctors who say the results are extremely encouraging. The results are so encouraging in fact that those doctors say they’d personally take it or prescribe it to family members if needed. A French study shows stunning results with one of these drugs.

Personally I take the pandemic seriously enough to say that nations need to band together to apply pressure to China to stop the conditions, as observed in the Hunan province, that caused it. If they don’t, rest assured this will happen again as it has in the past. The next time may be worse.

Finally, we need to reopen sections of our country where the virus activity is low. The stimulus package is one thing, but the gears of the economy must again be put in motion sooner than later. We don’t want to get to the point of civil unrest. IMO, the glue that holds society together is not as strong as some may think.
I wish I could give you more than one "like". Very well stated. We need to address the problem, but not create a bigger one which would be a failing economy. Thanks!

Are Coronavirus Tests Accurate?...tick tick tick......https://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=228250 http://healthinsightuk.org/2020/02/12/coronavirus-a-reliable-test-is-badly-needed-we-dont-have-one/ https://futurism.com/neoscope/coronavirus-covid19-test-kits-broken-america-scarce-china https://www.thebigmirror.com/are-coronavirus-tests-flawed/ Meanwhile, officials in the epicentre of the epidemic, Hubei province, China, have started counting people with symptoms rather than using the tests for final confirmation.

Are Coronavirus Tests Accurate?
Your links refer to Trump's CDC head rejecting using the proven WHO developed test and insisting on a MAGA one. It failed and new one had to be developed which is why US did not have testing, the first step in successfully controlling the virus as China and Korea have done.

"How testing failures allowed coronavirus to sweep the U.S. The Trump administration’s decision to forgo a World Health Organization test and create its own had fateful consequences, experts say."

Trump appoints a grifter buddy as head of CDC and he's been a major part of the problem. Ethics violations in the past, part of Gallo lab in AIDS epidemic that was cited for "scientific misconduct". The decision on the tests kits and that key failure are on Trump's man and Trump.

This is throughout the Trump admin. How to make government incompetent again, appoint incompetents to run. We are paying a huge price

Interesting model for resources and daily death rates for the US and state-by-state put together by UW Medicine in Seattle. https://covid19.healthdata.org/projections
Damn. That is really cool. They should give it to every state to post. Don't see that for OR public. Our team told us to expect to be called in two weeks so we know OR pandemic organizers are seeing almost identical data. Hope to get the deck done, spring house cleaning and boat shiny and bright by then. Tesla was just in for service so it's ready. Want to leave a beautiful corpse.

Covid -19 testing has changed rapidly. These articles are all over a month old. I encourage you to use relevant references if you want to be convincing.

Here is the latest update from today.

Ford is doing everything we can to protect the launches. Technical preparations are going very well. After the first week of shutdown, we're seeing a one day shutdown equals a one day slip in the launch. After the shutdown is over we'll work to claw back those lost days.

My speculation:
I think this means if the Mach-E plant starts back up on or about April 6th along with the other Mexican plants that would be about 2 1/2 weeks of shutdown. Excluding the first week that means we have about a week and a half launch delay immediately after the shutdown ends. Since we have many months until the launch we may be able to claw back most of those lost days. Which means either way we'll still be on target for Q4 deliveries to start.
Thanks. You continue to be a great resource to this forum.

Of course, since none of us know the actual target delivery dates, Ford can shift by weeks and we won’t know it

We need some social distancing and a lot of other things. What we don't need is a crashing economy. As areas can test and get most people to practice reasonable social distancing and cleanliness, we can start to get this economy moving again. Not all at once just go back to normal throughout the country, but transition back to some new normal that gets the economy moving in stages and one area after another. Continue learning and adjusting as you go.

This isn't rocket science, it is what reasonable and responsible people do in their lives everyday.
