Cyber Orange: Should I, or shouldn't I, hit this small ding/chip with touch-up? Worried about the tri-metallic coat. Picture enclosed

Maybe the next one. I’m super sure it’s not far away with the way people are around here :(

The paint itself is thin layer.

That’s for sure. Kind of amazing it’s so beautiful despite being not very hardy. Maybe that’s why it’s so nice looking?

Looking at it up close for so long it makes me love the color of the car even more!

I would recommend leaving it. Unless you repair the whole panel, the fix could look worse than it is.
Yes, I agree. I have a small scratch on the back of my Cyber Orange finish (less than a cm). I showed it to an autobody shop and they told me because it is a tri-coat finish, they would have to redo the entire back hatch. They also said it would take 10+ years before a mark that size caused any sort of rust issues (I'm in NH too). I have an OEM touch up kit but have yet to use it. The Autobody people said to just put a sticker over it if it really bothers me :)

If it was mine I would use a tiny bit of touch up paint applied with a round tooth pick. You goal is just to cover the dark below and not fill the whole chip. Let it cure, after next time you polish the car you'll hardly notice it unless you're looking for it.

After working it a lot with F11 polish, I backed ‘Lectric Mango into the harsh California sun. To me, it’s nigh-imperceptible, from any angle, direct, 45 degree, 60 degree.

The polish phase helped a ton. I will hit it with nano wax later this evening also.

Anecdotal, I asked a neighbor (who was very inquisitive about our mango) if they could see what I was working on (obsessing over)

He looked for quite a while and said nope!

Mission accomplished I think, given my skill level and tools
